An Eeexcellent little computer!
os:
Windows XPI bought my Eee through Ebuyer on Friday for GBP319 - at that price, totally unmissable. Now it's GBP349 there will be many thinking that you can get a better 15.4" laptop for the same price or less. I'd like to point out the many advantages of the Eee that makes it one of the best computers I've ever used.
The most striking thing about the Eee is its size - it's not quite as tiny as the 701 or 901 Eee PCs but the extra few mm allow for a nearly full size UK keyboard, right down to the shape of the Enter key.
Anyone who uses a larger laptop's keyboard every day will find the transition a doddle. Furthermore, in spite of the great keyboard and ample screen space the whole thing is utterly portable - I'm writing this review from my back garden!
Other strengths of the Eee include its superb multitouch pad, similar to those seen on GBP1000+ Apple laptops. Out of the box you can scroll with two fingers, say, but a driver update opens up back and forward functionality with a swish of your hand, as well as zooming in and out of photos with a pinch on the touchpad.
The Atom processor is more than sufficient for everyday use such as word processing and emails - heck, I'm running Photoshop CS3 on mine with very few grumbles! Furthermore, if you are up to performing a BIOS update then you can unlock HyperThreading - in short, your single core processor will act as a dual core, giving you a decent speed boost.
I haven't even reached the Eee's star turn: its battery life. If, like me, you don't use the Bluetooth or webcam much disabling these will open up a real world battery life of around five-and-a-half hours. I'm waiting for Ebuyer to get spares in stock and then just think, a whole day without having to charge or worry about carrying the power adapter!
Finally - and this is a point that can easily go understated - it's gorgeous! Honestly, compared to my old laptop it's like the newly crowned Miss World standing beside her sagging grandmother.
All in all, the Eee comes very highly recommended. It's fast, surprisingly powerful - particularly if you are willing to put your heart in your mouth and perform a few system updates - and, best of all, it'll make your colleagues or friends very jealous. For GBP350. What other laptop can boast all of that?!
Asus EEE 1000H White

Windows XPJust received this 9.00 after ordering yesterday 15.30 lightning fast delivery and tracking a testament to good service from ebuyer guys.
The machine itself is excellent and a little bigger than the eee900 8.9 inch but not that much and still very much a netbook. Build quality is much better than the eee900 and as i had the advent 4211 previously in my opinion its more solid than that espescially the hinge area and the keyboard is cool too.
The software and wireless works out the box and unlike the advent 4211 or msi Wind there is no messing around with drivers to make the wireless work.
The innovative hybrid booster switch under and overclocks the eee 1000H at the push of a button and this is impressive espescially where you can see the battery indicator stretching to 4.16 hrs which is seriously cool. the MSI Wind tops out at 2.03 minutes so for the money and the freedom of charger this is the better value buy.
Excellent ebuyer as always no problems recommended !!!!++++++

Windows XPFurther to the previous review, it's well worth doing the bios update. Mine arrived with version 0601 installed. The latest version 0901 adds a battery monitor icon to the tray which is particularly useful. I read on the net that the "install from the internet" option doesn't work ... I didn't try it! If you download to a file then update from that, it works fine.
Very, very good

Windows XPI was torn between the 901 and this one. I was most interested in battery life, useability and portability and I am so glad I decided to pay the extra 50 quid and get this one. I would have bought a 16Gb SD card if I had gone for the 901 which would bring the prices up to a similar level. This basically made my decision for me, but after trying a 701, I realised that the extra keyboard size makes an unbelievable difference. I can run photoshop, dreamweaver etc with no problems - although it's not the fastest laptop in the world, a bios update gave an instant performance boost and given how long the battery lasts (used it on a long-distance flight for 6+ hrs with wifi, bluetooth & camera off), for me it renders my other laptop obselete.
If you get the 901 I doubt very much that you'll be disappointed, but if you are like me and torn between that one and this one, I would spend the extra and get this. I rarely write reviews but after buying this from Ebuyer (arrived three days early, thanks!), I felt I had to because I am just so impressed.
well worth the wait

Windows XPI can honestly say this is a superb netbook. Got mine Friday 25th July, ordered Thurs when there was 120 available, as I write this there is now 88 and dropping.
I am running xp home, might duel with ubuntu later.
I am trying to find faults and the only thing I don't like is the right shift key.

Windows XPI bought this for my wife and she just loves it. It's small, light, good looking and just the right size to put in a bag to take to work.
All I can add to the other reviews is that setting up is a breeze. We have had other laptops and this is by far the cheapest and without doubt easily the best!
Ebuyer's delivery service worked efficiently.
Highly recommended.
Excellent buy

Windows XPI ordered on Thursday and it arrived Friday lunchtime. Excellent service from Ebuyer, as usual.
I am well pleased with this little beauty. I do a lot of travelling for my work and wanted a small, but fully useable machine. I think the Eee PC 1000 is just that.
Everything worked straight out of the box ... I simply plugged in the WLAN cable and away it went.
It's a well designed item ... I particularly like the easy way you can control the different functions with quick keys and combinations with the Fn key.
I agree that the right shift key takes a little getting used to, but it is the smallest of niggles.
Although I've bought at the slightly higher price currently, I still consider this to be great value. The compact size and light weight will be such a boon when travelling/working abroad.
It comes with a well-fitted soft, padded case .... something which I had not picked up from any of the descriptions / reviews. I consequently ordered a separate case .... so mine now has double protection!!

Windows XPI am writing this review on my eee 1000 and its quality. The fault about having flex in the keybooard is non exsistant. If you are looking for a net book, no matter what your situation this is the one for you.
Eee!

Windows XPMy EeePC 1000 arrived this morning, I ordered yesterday from ebuyer (thanks!) And i'm on it already writing this! It's a brilliant little netbook. Does everything I want at an impressive speed. The keyboard is quite comfortable, i keep typing the wrong letters here and there but it's easy to get used to. The screen looks great. The camera is really good quality which surprised me! Sounds pretty good. I was wondering whether i should have gone for one of the smaller Eee models but this is a perfect size, small and compact but not so tiny thats it's hard to use! I'm very pleased i chose this model now, love it!
