Stunning
Just used Acronis True Image to replace the Hitachi 160Gb Sata in a new Lenovo 3000 N200 with this 320Gb WD Scorpio.
Surprisingly smooth and easy operation. Acronis is brilliant - you just pop the new drive in an external caddy (I used the Black Nexons 2.5" USB 2.0 External Caddy/Enclosure For 2.5" SATA Hard Drive - a few quid from Amazon). Then you plug it into the USB on your laptop and choose CLONE option in Acronis. It shuts everything down and copies the lot across.
I downloaded the laptop manual to find out where the hard drive was and how to swap it - it turned out to be incredibly simple to do - I was sh*&*ng myself for nothing! That's all there is to is. The new drive just started up a treat in Vista.
The difference the Scorpio has made to the laptop performance is mind blowing - it seems to be twice as fast - it has transformed the laptop. It is also extremely quiet.
I was also reassured by the 5yr guarantee - and I have quite a few WD drives with which I have never had any probs.

Windows VistaVery good drive. Whisper quiet and stunningly rapid. Bought to replace the tiny 60gb toshiba that was fitted in my laptop. Easy to fit. No probs at all. Well packaged. And delivered in 2 days despite being on the supersaver.
with the 16mb cache and 7200rpm, i notice a good improvment on system performance. Running vista and now with a lot more space.
At this price too, dont think, just buy it.

Decent drive

Windows XPAlthough I cannot vouch for this drives long term reliability (I've not owned it long), it runs smooth, cool and quietly in my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop.
This drive has replaced a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 (5400 rpm, SATA 150, 160 GB) and has seriously improved boot and loading times, aside from doubling my storage space.
Versus my old Momentus it is slightly noisier, I can hear it over my cooling fans when they're running at low rpm's (the drive sounds much like a small, quiet fan itself. If you want true silent running though, stick to a 5400 rpm drive). There has also been a barely perceptible increase in vibration. I've noticed no increase in running temperature.
Right now you cannot get this sort of space and performance cheaper in 2.5" package, so I'd definitely recommend it. I just hope it proves reliable!
There appears to be little to choose from between this and Seagate's comparative drive. Hitachi and Samsung drives lag a little in terms of performance and are more expensive, but do have a reputation for being more reliable.
If you buy this drive you're most likely replacing an existing drive, so I highly recommend investing in a USB caddy to slot your old drive in to for use as a backup or portable media.
Finally, I'd suggest you try Acronis True Image for copying your old stuff over (you'll need the aforementioned caddy for this), it's fully functional for the free 15 day trial... no more wading through hundreds of discs for weeks! It copies everything over, so your computer will be just as you left it.

OtherI recieved my drive today after 5day free delivery for my PS3 and fitted it in 15 minutes with no problems (note make sure you have the right screwdriver size for the screws as they can chew easily)
quick formated in a few seconds 298gb formated 265gb free and restore took me around 2 minutes
fast, quiet and a five year guarentee what more could you want
Beware - not what it says on the tin!!
Ebuyer's service is excellent and their prices are very good but it is disappointing to see a slightly misleading spec sheet (although I'm sure it's not intentionally so).
This model does not have the shock protection which would carry the product code ending with BJKT. This is the non protected model with product code ending with BEKT.

MacBook

Mac OSX I got this yesterday and have just installed it into my 06 Macbook running 10.5. This drive was easily fitted once i had the right tools. I used superduper to clone the old 80GB drive which took about 2 hours. Other then that is a 10 min job.
Performance wise some apps maybe open a bit quicker but not noticeably although i am yet to try it with any HD intensive applications. I was a bit worried about extra heat due to the faster spin speed but spotlight has just indexed the drive and it is running at a reasonable 42c.
Overall this drive seems great easy install, loads of space and great price.
Ignore the other mac review on here I am very happy with this buy and there is no additional noise from this drive over the original.
