excellent mobo for a business pc.
one word of advice: for some reason the bios has the memory controller set to single mode which means if u put two sticks of mem it wont boot. put one stick of mem in go to memory overclocking and change the mode to 'GANGED MODE' save turn off install all memory sticks and presto, the system posts with all memory workin.
scratched my head for ages b4 i figured it out! lol
maybe yr board will work out of the box, but if yr mem wont boot when together this is prob the case, as they both worked in my other system or on their own
Love it loads
operating system:
Windows VistaThis may be the cheapest of the 780g MB's but may be the best. The Gigabyte apparently has red hot heatsinks and buggy bios. This one has cool heatsinks and has been ultra reliable for me.
NB To get audio thro HDMI in vista download the "ATE HDMI Audio device" from Realtek HD Audio (http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false). Note that you select audio output via the realtek audio manager ie speaker or HDMI etc.
Also download latest catalyst&driver for hd3200 - makes a huge difference to performance. Have ran 1080 mkv video with only 35-55% cpu load on my amd 4850e.
Choose your CPU carefully
I went to the website to take a look at the position of the power connector but had a surprise when I noticed a 3-phase mosfet on this board. Most 780's have a 4 phase solution which isn't good enough for Phenoms at 125W TDP. (Take a look at anandtech or Tom's hardware about this). Choose your CPU with care - I'd recommend using the energy efficient processors only with this board.

Windows XPWell I cant say anything bad about this board. But theres something just not right about it.
Dont get me wrong it installed straight away. Everything fits and works. However it just doesn't look or feel as well put together as the gigabyte equivalent.
Only time will tell I suppose.
BIOS is a bit confusing and the manual is next to useless. It has jumpers but nothing in the book tells you about them. Powercolor web site not much better.
But it works which is the main thing. Gonna knock it down a star for being confusing and another star for my general worried feeling about its build quality.
Ebuyer still good value tho as its a 780 chipset and it is cheap.
