os: Windows XP

This is a good solid system; as you would expect from Hewlett Packard. There is plenty of room for expansion of memory and graphics, as well as addittional PCI slots of varying types. While not as quiet as previous HP dx models you will only notice it if you happen to have an older unit sitting next to it, the difference is minimal.

Inside the box:

Motherboard Manufacturer: Asus

Model: M2N68-LA (Narra)

Form Factor: Micro-ATX: 9.6 in X 9.6 in

CPU's: AMD AM2 Athlon 64 & 64 X2 with Dual Core technology, Sempron

BIOS: Award

BIOS Version: 5.13

Chipset: nVidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

Expansion Slots:

PCI-E 16x: 1x

Populated: no

PCI-E 1x: 2x

Populated: no

PCI: 1x

Populated: no

Populated: 1x

Components:

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 4450B 2.3GHz

Memory Installed: 1024Mb - 128Mb shared to graphics card

Memory type: DDR2 6400 - PC-4200 (533 MHz), PC2-5300 (667 MHz)

and PC-6400 (800 MHz)

Max. memory: 4Gb on 32bit & 8Gb on 64bit Windows systems

Graphics: Integrated - nVidia GeForce 6150SE Graphics

Sound: Integrated - Realtek ALC888S

NIC: Integrated - nVidia nForce 430

Case: Midi tower 1x 5.25" free

PSU: ATX - LiteOn PS-5301-08HF 300Watt

Hard Drive: SATA - 160Gb 7200rpm

One small but usefull feature is the powerbutton is located on the top of the case. As most of these units will reside on the floor it means a lot less reaching down and is easier to find.

review by: Gavin Coles os: Not Applicable

The system I purchased came preinstalled with Windows XP Professional. Supplied were disks to upgrade the system to Windows Vista, needless to say I am sticking with XP
