Great card!

Got mine delivered yesterday.

And now my Vista rating is 5.9! :D

It's very good card.

I OC'd it to 700/1200 and it runns 65~70 oC Under load.

The fan is MASSIVE it will cover 1.5 slots. but it cools the memory aswel as the chip!

Not a power hungry card, could run on 400W Extra value PSU.

Great service as usual: ordered the night before, delivered this morning.

The package contains the usual driver CD, CrossFire dongle, molex to 6 pin, DVI to D-Sub etc... but no additional software.

The card itself performs brilliantly at 1920x1080, Cod4 and SupCom all on highest settings. Temps are nice and low: 45C idle and 65C load so no fears of the computer catching fire. Good ventilation is still needed though.

Haven't tried overclocking yet; and the cooler looks suspiciously like a reference Intel cooler, but it runs quiet (inaudible at 2m) and performs well so I really can't fault it. Two thumbs up!

i got this to replace a dead 8800GTS my 2nd nvidia card to die on me.

anyway this is a single slot card with a moderately large cooler as shown in the pic, as far as ive seen so far it is effective. i played 30 mins of HL2 and GPU Z showed a temp of 57c, this in a mid sized case with 2 120mm fans so for a card supposed to be hot under load i'm quite surprised by this. theres hardly any sound from it either apart from the typical hum, very nice card.

This seems to be the "Lite" edition, just the card, power and component cables, and a couple of output adapters. There is a driver disc, but better to use the latest ATI driver download. No extra games or software. Includes a crossfire lead as well.

Large cooler keeps temps to 40C idle, 58C load, a lot better than the basic cooler, well worth the few extra pounds.

Quiet, well built card

After recently buying a new Quad core system I was on the lookout for a decent graphics card for gaming (previously I had a Radeon X1650 pro AGP card) and settled upon the Radeon 4850 as the perfect blend of price/performance. I was hesitant because of other reviews of cards complaining about ultra hot card temps and noisy fans _until_ this dual slot design surfaced. I am glad I waited for this as I received my card on Friday 26th August after only 2 days wait (on Free delivery!) and I am glad to say that temps are pretty good - 68c max so far on games and the fan is totally silent during normal system use going to a slight hum under gaming.

Overall would recommned this card for fabulous performance and build quality without costing the earth.

Just Amazing

I just upgaded to a custom built PC and there's a staggering performance increase.

My old Laptop

1.466GHz Intel Celeron

966MB RAM

Ati Radeon Xpress 200M Graphics

My new PC

3GHz AMD Athlon X2 6000+

4GB DDR2 RAM

ATI HD4850 Dual slot graphics

MSI K9A2 Platinum

This graphics card is just amazing, I've been running Elder scrolls Oblivion

with 8x Anti Aliasing, 1680x1050 resolution and max EVERYTHING, and due to the graphics cards performance only 60% of one of the dual cores is needed and 20% or the RAM. Anyone who is building a gaming PC should choose this model.

NOTE: It's a teansy bit hard to install into a MSI K9A2 Platinum, the card will either not go in the PCI-E slot due to the fan touching another PCI slot, or it will have to touch the copper heatpipe.

The best 4850 to get!
review by: Anonymous rating:

It was 119.95 when i bought it the next day it went down by 10 :( so i missed out but oh well not much

but still its the cheapest 4850 here, works with vista, the cooler will take up 2 slots, the cooler is very good and with it i have overclocked this card to 700core/1.1GHZ mem(2.2effective) it is a great increase from standard clocks i get up to 70GB bandwidth from the memory, at these clocks the temps are idle 50degrees celsius (the powerdown feature kicks in when idle so clocks automatically are underclocked) when playing crysis it gets to about 70-80 which is fine considering the temps of the stock cooler.

The memory chips are also cooled efficiently. the card is also not too big so should fit in most midi towers.

With it overclocked on crysis i can run at 1280x1024 with everything on very high with FPS from 25-30, I usually play with only textures, shaders and post proc effects at very high DX10 and get a more steady rate of about 30-40

Best value here, good cooler, good card, very overclockable

good delivery too!

This is a excellent card and the cooler make's it even better!

Idle temp's at 44-45

Underload no higher then 65 normally

The normal stock card with those cheap fan's are no where near this card.

Pay the extra few quid and get this one :D!

Five Star's from me for sure

I've purchased two of these cards, one at 110GBP, one at 120 and now they're 132 - shouldn't they be getting cheaper? The card runs cool (40 -65C), over-clocks nicely and is fairly quite. I did consider the toxic version but after reading this review I'm glad I went for this version...

This card is also slightly shorter that standard 4850s. Highly recommended (once the price drops!)
