Real Nice

Windows VistaNot your usual cheap crappy case....a real nice feel of quality with this new case from seagate. I had an old one and first impressions are the new drive is a much better design. More feedback after a few weeks use
Excellent Drive

Windows XPBought one of these to replace a 500GB desktop 3.5" external drive. It is definitely slower to read, but the big difference in size and not having to carry and plug in a power supply makes it far more convenient.
It works with every PC I've tried, and it comes with a cable which has 2 USB plugs. Every PC I've tried works just using only one of the USB plugs. I think the 2nd one is used in addition only when you have a device which cannot provide the standard specified USB power voltage - I've heard some cheapo laptops have this problem, but it will affect most drives.

yes you do need to have this formatted to FAT 32 to work on the Mac
Answer to use of 1 or 2 USB Ports
In response to Anonymous who asked about the use of 2 usb ports - It doesn't always need two on all machines, it depends on your machines PSU. Most new PSUs should be fine. I have ordered one of these and also have a pocket iomega hdd and that has a 2 usb cable, never had to use it yet though

It has only one USB cable for power and data transfer, unlike someone else was raising doubts of this drive needing two of them.
Overall very much impressed with it, highly recommended.
And kudos to EBuyer, even though selected the free delivery, received the drive within two days.
brilliant for the money

Windows XPAs always brilliant service from ebuyer and a small usb powered dirve which works faster than anything I've used before. Most files are drag and drop and larger ones take seconds rather than minutes. The drive is also quiet. I'm going to buy another one to take abroad with me as it can just fit in my jacket pocket with no need for separate power unit.
Seagate FreeAgent
Pondered which portable to buy and settled for this after researching. Glad I did. Smaller than expected and lighter. Simple to set up with pre-installed software and some 460+ gig to go at.
Small USB 2 connector worked great from my Dell Latititude 420 laptop with no problems.
Also bought the docking station and leather wallet which is very handy.
Work with OSX
Am I right in thinking that a format to FAT32 will allow me to use this on a Mac?

Does this drive require 2 USB ports to power? googling this drive type it seems to point towards needing 2, which is rather lame...
PS3
Looking at buying of these hard drives that does not require to be plugged into the mains, but will it work when I plug it into a PS3??
