Photo and document printing
Enjoy bright and vibrant photo prints, with ink droplets as tiny as 2pl delivering smooth gradations and fine detail. A maximum resolution of 4800x1200dpi* is achievable and a photolab-quality print can be produced in approximately 70 seconds*. The ChromaLife100 system** combines the PIXMA MP190, genuine Canon FINE Cartridges and a selection of Canon photo papers to create beautiful, long-lasting photos.
Two FINE Cartridges are used. A black cartridge contains pigment ink for crisp, sharp text printing. Secondly, colour dye-based inks are ideal for graphics and images, delivering glossy photo prints.
Copying
The combination of scanner and printer enables you to create high-quality, vibrant copies without the need for a PC.
Scanning
The 600dpi resolution flatbed scanner provides superb colour scans. It is possible to scan different size documents or photos with good quality. The scan to PDF function is a quick and easy solution for creating electronic versions of paper documents.
Image manipulation
Canon’s Easy-PhotoPrint EX software has been included to make correcting and enhancing your photos straightforward and intuitive. You can remove red-eye from your digital images, and Auto Image Fix ensures great results when printing.
Ease of use
The potential of the All-In-One is maximised thanks to the inclusion of a Quick Start function. Users have access to all the major features within a few seconds from turning the PIXMA MP190 on.

Yes it comes with ink carts
but the lower of the two capacties Canon sell for it (not a massive surprise - and at least these are carts they sell normally, rather than HP's tiny ones they only put in new printers).
Comes with a power cable - but does NOT come with a USB cable. Just needs a standard 'B' ended cable. Only annoyance is the socket is recessed slightly, so my old printer cable (with big plastic plug) wouldn't fit. (fortunately I had a spare). If you need a cable Quickfind 130548 at a massive 56p is what you need to add to your basket. (That's a 1m cable. If you want 2m, you'll want 130579 which is just over a pound).
Huh?
I wonder if this is a good credit crunch deal.
If the cart's were cheap that would be a bonus.
Ink included?
Apologies if I've missed something obvious, but I can't tell whether this would come with any ink cartridges included. Anyone able to confirm whether it includes ink or not?
For 20 quid what's stopping you buying one?

So for 20 quid this printer is great, sets up really quickly, it's got some nice little features and generally it's not a good purchase.
If I'd spent 40 quid I would still be pleased.

NB - Your need the Serial number for the form which is under the cartridge flap stuck to the cartridge rail.

Excellent printer - that just 'prints'

Windows XPI mainly bought the printer as it had 20 pounds cash back on it and my old one was dead.
Wasn't expecting too much from it, reviews seemed good, but I just wanted something that 'printed' and was cheap.
Very pleasantly surprised by it.
Build quality is excellent, was expecting plasticy, but it feel satisfyingly heavy and well bolted together (Even the physical appearance of it is quite attractive imho).
Prints nice and quickly on normal quality settings and photo printing looks excellent (really wasn't expecting it to be that good).
As always you'll get shafted on print cart costs, but Canon sell high capacity carts which whilst not 'cheap' - aren't actually too bad. This may actually be the first printer I've ever owned where I'll use genuine carts (I know, I'm shocked as well).
Final comment is for the software it comes with. It's actually quite good. Doesn't seem to be any bloat and just gives you intuitive and quick access to all the features that you'd want.
There are more expensive printers in the range, if you want little LCD screens on the printer, Pictbridge so you can print directly from your camera etc - but as a cheap printer that does what it says on the tin (and a bit more), I really don't see how this can be beaten.

Not ApplicableProper credit crunch deal. I have one of these (bought last month damn) it is a solid all in one that does photo's very well. ink carts are cheap as well.... bonus.

Windows XPI bought this last week, so far its great for the price, and also there's the cashback which was the main reason I got it.
The Good:
- cheap
- decent performance
- all-in-one
The Bad
- a bit noisy
- doesn't include USB cable (and its one of those A to B type USB)
- its a little big
I don't intend to use the printer a lot so performance wise, to me is ok since I don't print out a lot anyway.
