Brilliant

Had it for a week or so, running off my MacPro.

Vibrant colours, great contrast, cheap to run, nice big screen, good resolution, good price, Screen can pivot into portrait mode, analogue & digital connectors (leads supplied), mat screen (good if you dislike glossy reflections).

Note that being a cheap monitor, the colour can vary depending on your viewing angle, so perhaps not ideal for professional print/video workers.

thumbs up from me.

Excellent "budget 24" monitor"
review by: Chris rating:

...yes, a budget 24" monitor is no longer an oxymoron. I recently had a Samsung 245B, known for giving off an annoying buzz, and because my PC is almost completely silent the buzz was very annoying! So I decided to "upgrade". This monitor is pretty much identical to the 245B, but silent (unless you reduce the brightness)!

If you reduce the brightness of this monitor, colours are better represented and clearer. However, the noise is unbearable...again. So for the sake of noise, I don't mind not seeing subtle shades of red/blue/green etc. Ultimately, if you want accurate colour representation, you shouldn't buy a monitor with a TN panel anyway.

Overall, a great monitor. Perfect for games and pretty good for everything else.

PS. I have two and no dead pixels came with either! Great product(s) again from Samsung!

Excellent Monitor

I ordered this Monitor on a Wednesday night after 10.00pm and selected Super Saver Free Delivery, so I expected it to arrive the following week - it arrived Friday before lunch! As ever, superb service from Ebuyer. I have used them for years and am never disappointed.

Now on to the monitor itself, its an absolute bargain for the price, simplicity itself to setup and it worked straight from the box. I use a DELL 2408WFP at work and was a little concerned about buying a TN panel at home, but couldnt justify the cost of the DELL. I shouldnt have worried at all, you can notice a marginal difference in the viewing angle, but as its only ever me in front of the screen, this is not a problem.

The text is crisp and clear, with vibrant colours, but you do need to adjust the brightness, as its set at 100% out of the box and very bright. I really like the Magicbright settings, which adjusts for differing modes. The Internet setting is perfect for everyday use.

I had no trouble with the touch sensitive controls, but as they are not backlit, they are hard to see in dull lighting. However, this does mean there are no annoying lights on the bezel, apart from the very cool blue LED on light. The bezel is also thin, which makes the monitor look very sleek for a 24 inch panel. It was also important to have a matt screen and matt bezel, I hate the shiny gloss ones, as they are really distracting and a devil to keep clean.

The stand adjusts for height as well as turning 180 degrees for portrait mode. This height adjustment is also important, so the top of the monitor can be adjusted to eye level. So make sure you get one with the HAS stand.

An absolute bargain for the price and I am very pleased. Its not quite as good as my DELL at work, but at less than half the price its no competition between the two for value. Comes with power cable, analog and DVI video cables, a driver disk and manual. Buy one, you wont be disappointed.

This monitor is sweet, had to wait a few weeks for the stock to come in but it was worth it. Perfect image, uniform colours, lighting, no dead pixels. Very sturdy stand, nice touch sensitive controls on the bezel.

Worth the wait

Well, after preordering what seems like months ago the monitor finally arrived.

NOTE - the 'touch sensitive' control for the on/off on the front is not terribly 'sensitive'. In fact, I was on the verge of repackaging the monitor as a DOA return when I thought I would have one last go at switching it on - good job I did! Make sure you give the are a firm push on the 'power' button.

After that initial hurdle though, I must say that this is extraordinary value for money. The monitor has a superb picture and Photoshop works a treat. In fact I had previously used a cheaper Acer 24" and the Photoshop display was dreadful. This is a different league!

To summarise, if this is the price range you are looking for then dither no longer. It is quite an amazing display for the money... in fact I would say it was comparable with a display costing almost twice the price.

Brilliant Screen

operating system: Mac OSX

I was impressed with the quality for such a reasonable price. This version isn't glossy but it is a little bit plasticy and the buttons were a little fiddley at first but. I was impressed though at the flexability and the fact that it rotates 90 degrees to work as portrait as well. Great for a cheap, effective and large multi screen display setup. I am planning on buying 2 more and running a 3 screen setup. Highly recommended.

Been wanting to get a new monitor for sometime, to replace my ageing LG 19"

It's a great monitor, very happy with the quality of the image and sturdyness of it.

Can confirm it comes with both a D-Sub cable and a HDMI one.

Good for the money, not the best, but certaintly one of the best on the market at this price point. The screen wobbles a bit when you press the buttons, but other than that it is perfect.
