Good price, good over-clocker!

With a good motherboard (yes you can get good budget ones too - quick find 152175) this CPU will go from 2.8GHz to 3.5GHz with a simple raise to the FSB from 266 to 333 with no voltage changes.

Very nice CPU, chewing up everything I've thrown at it. Haven't OC'd or anything. Perfect for a budget/high end pc.

Alike the other review the heat sink wasn't perfect to install, the clips are very weak and bent at times - fitted it but it may be best to avoid stock cooling.

Great Processor for a bargain price.

Just fitted the E7400 to replace my E6300 & the performance is quite astonishing. Have overclocked it to 3.3ghz with little effort. This runs cooler than the E6300,which was overclocked at 2.5ghz.

Like many reviews I haven't used the stock heatsink as they are prone to not fitting properly.I purchased a Asaka Evo Blue heatsink, which does the job very well.

I can now play Crysis in all its glory without any problems.

This is a great CPU at a bargain price, highly recommended.

Great product, works straight out the box, no problems with it at all.

Installation of the heatsink/fan is really easy too and it looks very smart and is also pretty quiet running.

Upgraded from a Celeron D and the difference in speed and performance is definitely noticable.

Have got this cpu running at 3.5Ghz with no problems just make sure you use a good cooler like the Arctic Cooling Freezer64 Pro.What more do you need for the price, you can have a fast cpu for a little effort

Quality CPU

I like this because it is cheap. You get a lot of performance from this for less than 90 pounds. But the best thing with Core 2 Duo CPU's is that Intel designed them for overclocking, which can be done easily thanks to the huge multiplier.

Heat is not an issue either, the e7400 does not produce much heat and stays pretty cool alone, so stock cooling will be fine for normal use and maybe overclocking to 3.0GHz. But I think that a quality cooler for cheap is the Freezer 7 pro, which will more than suffice to maybe a 3.6GHz overclock.

If you want to overclock get a P5QL Pro (cheap and good quality) and the Freezer 7 pro (cheap and good quality).

This is a great CPU and to find any CPU as good as the e7400 for this price is actually unbelievable!

Just... Great
review by: Anonymous operating system: Windows XP

Excellent CPU! Runs absolutely everything I have required it to do. Have not tried to overclock, as I have not needed to - but there is always a poss in the future.

Have never used the stock coolers, so can not really comment on it.

A great CPU for the price, even though it has gone up since I brought a few days ago!

Can not ask for anything else!

Got this for xmas, put it strait in onto an asus intel p5k-c motherboard and oc'd it to 3.51GHz, highly reccomend the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro rev 2 though.

under load, i still havnt managed to get it above the 50 degree's C mark, even full settings on the most demanding of games...

FOR ALL Call Of Duty Players!!

im running it along side a XFX ATi HD4770 Graphics card and getting a SOLID 250fps (capped) EVEN with smoke and nades blowing up cars!

id give it more than 5 stars if i could :)

Heatsink Quality

Installation was fine on the Asus P5KPL-AM.

Only issue is the supplied heatsink is pretty bad. The little plastic thinks just turn and then get stuck without securing and they're too weak to do anything of use. Buy an AMD if you want a decent stock cooler (even though they don't look as nice- a box with a fan stuck on top)

Otherwise, the computer's detected it all perfectly
