Does Not Unlock

I purchased this for a new build using an Asus Mobo bought from Ebuyer, the Mobo is fitted with the capability to unlock dual core processors however this CPU wont unlock, Having said that the dual core does not seem any different than my earlier AM2+ phenom 9650 Quad core processor I have in an earlier build. The processor scores 6.4 in windows 7 and is very stable and cool. Real value for money for a dual core processor so I am giving it 5 stars

Got this with a Freezer pro 7 air cooled and overclocked it 15 x 260 = 3.9Ghz with a few tweaks to the voltage. Running stable under full stress at 41c.

Melting.
review by: Anonymous rating:

the processor isn't a problem. it is super fast compared to my old Singal core pentium 4, but the heatsink, wasen't powerful enough. my pc, started smoking (without overclock) and once i turned it off, and had a look at is, i had to rip the cpu off of the melted motherboard, since the heatsink was like, soldered to it. i got my chisel out and started to chilsel the processor of the heatsink, in loads of little bits. i had to send back my melted ASUS M4A79T mobo to get it repaired. I will definatly stick to intel, after the bizzare day.

change the cpu fan
review by: Anonymous operating system: Windows 7

i have owned one of these for 3 months now,and the fan and heatsink are crap, when clean cpu runs around 40c idle, but even after a weeks use u will see the temps rocket up to around 60c idle.my advice is change the heatsink and fan before u instal the cpu not after,u run the risk of overheating.
