Fantastic Value
operating system:
Windows XPDon't be fooled by the Celeron name. This is an extremely competent and fast dual core processor. Excellent for your average home/office system and the Wolfdale core (same as some of the faster Core 2 Duo's) has fantastic overclock potential.
Wow.
operating system:
Windows XPWell, I wanted to build my girlfriend a cheap computer to use and had a few spare parts lying around, managed to use a spare motherboard I had, got 1GB DDR2 ram off a friend,m power supply was given to me from a friend, hard drive was a spare I had, just needed a processor so I decided to get this, I wasn't expecting much at all, but wow. Popped this little thing in, installed XP PRO, with SP3. No problems whatsoever and I am amazed by the performance it gives. I've ran it under using several applications at the same time and no lag whatsoever. My own computer is running a Core2Quad Q9550 with 4GB ram. Doing normal stuff I don't notice a difference in speed between this celeron and my quad. It's truly amazing for the price, I deffinitely recomend this to anyone looking to build a reasonable priced PC.
Full specs of machine using this:

They're cheap and they're delicious...
operating system:
Windows 7I bought one of these to upgrade my brothers desktop PC - hes a student and mainly uses it for office work, watching videos and music recording/editing.
Overclocking seems very fruitful, (rememeber - this is a lower-cache 45nm penryn at heart!) but the stock heatsink will seriously hold you back - its tiny (about 1.5 inch high) and only aluminium (you have copper on any decent cooler). Using the stock cooler, we bumped the FSB up to 1066, giving us a 3.2GHZ processor speed and reasonable temps (~60 deg under load) and left it at that. We were able to boot into windows at 4ghz but it wasnt stable and temperatures were quickly getting dangerous (I believe 4ghz may be within reach with an arctic freezer 7 or similar).
We were on a budget, so this, coupled with an old Asus P5B, an old Nvidia 6600GT and 2GB RAM makes for a pretty powerful system - perfect for any student. We installed windows 7 and its been smooth since day one, zero complaints.
At the moment, these processors are really good value for money. If you're on a budget and the PC is for games then stump up the extra £20 for the E5200, but For an office PC this is all that you need and more.
