hmmmmmmmmm.......

Windows XPThis card would probably have a good review if I had it!!!! I ordered it and ended up with the Ebuyer 2 Port Hi-speed Usb 2.0 Cardbus Pcmcia Adapter. Ebuyer are usually very good with delivery of the right items but the pickers in this particular warehouse must be as thick as two short planks!
USB 2.0
os:
Windows XPMy daughter needed to transfer video files from her university network to her PC using an external USB hard disk. The transfer rate using PC s available USB 1.0 was painfully low. Bought this BELKIN and installed it on her PC. Windows detected it immediately with no hastle. Tested the transfer rate. Extremly fast. She is happy with the result so am I. Recommended to anyone wishing to upgrade to USB 2.0.
Good support for older Windows OS.

Windows 98I bought this for a customer running Win98 first edition. The card works great. I think it only runs at usb 1.1 speed (12mbps) on Win98 1st edition but that was fine as there was no usb support on the PC before anyway.
Good Product
os:
Windows XPVery good product. All i had to do was plug it in and it worked like a charm. Also well done e-buyer for delivering my order earlier than i expected.
Plugs and plays

LinuxI put this in a Debian Linux box and it just works. It uses an NEC USB controller (PCI IDs 1033:0035 and 1033:00e0). I previously used a StarTech brand card with an ALi USB controller, but under Linux that reported errors every few minutes which made it unusable.
Number of ports?
os:
Windows XPSomeone asked if this has an internal port in addition to two external - yes it has.
Why Am I So Stupid?
os:
Windows XPInstead of ordering the above product, I ordered the low profile model. I didn't know what low profile meant until I trie to fit the card, and it was midget sized compared to the slot it was supposed to fit into.
It cost me £2.68 to send it back, not to mention the £1 in phone calls, but at least Ebuyer didn't charge me postage for sending me out the one I should have asked for in the first place.
The only trouble I had fitting it was that it didn't show up in Device Manager until I moved it to another PCI slot. It runs like a sweetie now.
PS. My only complaint against EBuyer is that when I buy something, and come back to window shop in a day or two, the stuff I have bought previously is down in price!
Windows server 2003

OtherBought the ebuyer cheap card.. and It does not work on my W2k3 but this card works straight out of the box.. I use it to connect to a External HD as my server backup device and backup works 10 times faster
Orginal backup job took 15 hours
now it takes only 2 hours
slightly expensive but worth it...
Nice and easy

Windows XPOK, so there are cheaper cards with more ports out there. I went for this one because the reviews said it's plug-and-play on XP...and it is.
I'm running XP Pro SP2 - Plugged it in and started up, that's all there is to it - No messing around with drivers etc.
Since original install have moved the card to another machine, again with no issues.
Three ports: two external, one internal
Belkin USB 2.0 PCI Card
os:
Windows XPI bought this card because I have just got an external hard drive which was transferring data agonisingly slowly on the old USB connection.
I can only agree with the previous poster in saying how good the card is. No driver installation, plugged it into the slot, fired it up and drivers automatically installed within less than a minute!
Bonus is it arrived the next day by first class post and is about 15 quid cheaper than the thing I looked at in Dixons (who'd shop there anyway?)
First class.
