works fine for me

It works as the packet states.

Just a tip but anything requiring power should be run with this hub and its power supply adapter in place. And by the way that covers 95% of the USB products out there, put it this way even my tiny sony webcam needs it to be powered.

Belkin 7-port hub

Bought one of these for £40 from Dixons a couple of years ago. Does exactly what it says - replaces one USB socket on your PC, with 7!

Great if you need more USB sockets - they're powered too so it'll run anything USB.

My PC has 2 ports on the back and 2 on the front. My problem was that the front ports are only USB 1.0 and i wanted 2.0, and this hub gives me that. I have god knows how many USB devices, one of which was a mouse. So if i wanted to use two devices simultaneously i'd have to remove my mouse and find my old PS2 mouse! This hub solved my problem, and i can have most of my devices connected all the time now; printer, webcam, zip drive, mouse, flash disk, and i can leave the cables for my mp3 player, camera and phone connected too and just leave the other ends hanging around the front of the computer for easy access.

The hub itself looks pretty cool with lights inside a transparent case, but i hide mine out of the way behind the printer, as with a power lead, USB lead IN, and 7 USB leads out, it does tend to make a bit of a rats nest of leads, and i didnt want all that on top of my PC (All the leads would go down over the PSU fan and obstruct airflow, which is never a good idea)

For £21 you can't go wrong if you're short on ports. a 4 port hub can cost £20, so why have 4 when you can have 7?

Value for money 4*
Looks 5*
ease of use 5* (plug n play!)

Wrote a review about this product before but god knows where its gone, just thought id repeat myself by saying its a great product, very reliable, takes hi-speed and low-speed as stated and i would recommend it to anyone who's a bit stuck for ports.

GOOD PACKAGING!

As im sure that all my fellow computer-people will agree packaging is a nightmare (the person who made shrink-rap should be hung). BUT the packaging on this do-hickey is great, there is a little perforated bit to pull on, so instead of cutting myself on the plastic as normall i didnt!!

But one problem, Win ME says there is a driver error, and i should update. Pitty that there arnt any new USBhub drivers!!! Still works good tho! 4STARS hehe

Does what it oughta, without fuss or problems.
It would be nice tho to have blinking leds to indicate which ports are in use and sending and receiving data. the ports are all sensibly arranged and rasonably spaced so no problems with fitting awkward sticks or music players. Also good service from Belkin even on something as cheap as this. Will buy belkin gear again.

resets itself

I found that when i put through a adsl modem that had to draw its power from the hub after so long the hub would continually fail. After 4 days I am still waiting from a reply from Belkin as to wether or not the hub itself is faulty or wether it cannot sustain non-self powered device

USB 2.0

Please note that despite one of the previous reviews shown here, this is NOT a USB 2.0 hub. It will only transfer data at 12 Mbps. You can of course attach a USB 2.0 device to it and it will work fine, but not at USB 2.0 speeds!

USB 2?
review by: Anonymous os: Windows XP

The specification on this web page states that the hub has a data transfer rate of 12 Mb/s. If that is indeed the case, then it is not a USB 2 device!
