Dependable when you need it...
os:
OtherHad one of these running on a Windows 2003 server for 5 months and never had an issue.
It comes with APC powercute personal (downloadable from www.apc.com) which is quite adequate for SOHO users.
This unit has a very large capacity so will keep many things running when you need it. Mine has been used in anger a few times and has always performed when required.
Would recommend it anytime.
A compact high performance UPS
os:
Not ApplicableA simple and effective UPS allowing up to 865 watts to be connected (2 medium servers). It has 6 battery backup and 2 surge only IEC 320 C13 connections (hot cold kettle lead). The only downfall is as there are no standard three pin connections I had to make a 4 way adapter so I could plug my comms equipment into it.
Mine is now 12 months old and batteries are still strong
Good UPS for Price and Support
os:
Windows XPLike Robert, I bought my RS1500VA APC universal power supply (UPS) system over a year ago. Unfortunately for me my first system lasted about 6 weeks and started to play up but APC support is outstanding and the complete system was replaced in 24 hours no questions asked with an engineer advising on the phone what to test to make sure the unit was at fault prior to shipping the replacement direct from their warehouse. Faulty item is shipped by return post at their cost.
My current UPS has been running none stop for over a year and I am about to buy a second APC system for my second satellite computer system. I have a Supermicro X5DA8 Workstation with dual Xeon 2.8 GHz processors and over 5 hard drives (about 2 terabyte) and a large LG LCD CAD Monitor working none stop and this UPS keeps them running for over 35 minutes with the power off.
I can recommend this system to any one who needs reliable battery backup with 24 hour support from a great company (APC) without having to use Ebuyer if their is a fault.
You have 6 battery backup kettle type sockets with USB connection and Eithernet socket. Only downside was the 2 anti-surge sockets without battery backup but same as Robert I created an additional socket row to plug in other peripherals or some use a separate anti-surge adapter.
If you need to increase run-time on batteries, you can purchase an additional battery pack to stand next to the UPS if used as a tower or lay next to it if used in a rack formation UPS.
Well worth the money if for the support and after service care alone. APC also offer upgrading with the possibility to trade in old systems so you get green recycling from the company too. Software for these UPS' are updated regularly and spare batteries are easily obtained when required direct from the company web site in your area, even though mine are still working great to this day.
Well done Ebuyer for another great product as a reasonable price
