Works a treat
os:
Windows XPDoes what it says it does. Installed the NETGEAR WGT624 108 Mbps Wireless Firewall Router and then WG511tge into my laptop, within a few minutes had a 108 Mbps wireless network.
Dont forget to upgrade the router and driver software, router will download the latest version of its software.
Seems to have a large range at least 30m around my house, so make sure you turn on ALL of the security features, dont forget to do this!

Excellent product

Windows XPI was given these to review for a PC Magazine, Once out of the box the cards took only a few minutes to install and setup in ad-hock mode. They connect at 108Mb/s although when the latest Netgear drivers are used, it goes awry, and a speed of 11mb/s on 802.11b is the maximum they will connect at in ad-hock, so it is better to use the drivers on disk. The cards have a good range, and benchmarked at 6 Megabytes/S, compared to 100mb wired ethernet which is at 9.9 Megabytes/S.
Good stuff

Windows XPGot this card today, and set-up was as good as plug and play (even though this is PC running with Mac router). No problems with drivers, etc.
Also incredibly slimline - have got two PCI ports which are stacked vertically, and can still fit two cards in!
Running XP with SP2 and no problems as yet. All in all, an awesome piece of kit.
Nice bit of kit
os:
Windows XPInstalled the drivers, inserted the card, 5 seconds later I was on the internet.
Plug n Play as it should be...
Alternative Install Method
os:
Windows XPGreat product giving almost faultless performance. However the driver suite on the disk seemed a bit cumbersome and clunky. I uninstalled this, rebooted, connected my laptop via network directly to my router and inserted the card. Windows popped up its driver wizard and asked to look on Windows Update - 30 seconds later the driver was in place and has run at 108mbps ever since! ps. my card cost a lot more than this! (several months ago...)
Take it!!
os:
Windows XPPlug n play as it should be which is what persuaded me to buy this card. Just plug it in and your away, read instructions tho :).
Great range and signal, buy one today!!!
Faultless on Windows XP and Linux
os:
LinuxEasy setup on Windows using latest drivers from Netgear site. The connection utility is also pretty good.
On Linux (SuSE 10.0 32-bit) this card also works perfectly using Madwifi. There's a guide for SuSE 10.1 at http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/254/42/
and this is valid for SuSE 10.0 too. After that the card works great with 128-bit WEP, hasn't lost the connection yet to my router.
Works with linux
os:
LinuxI use it on linux laptop - it works perfectly - no problems during 9 months of use :)
all you need to do is grab madwifi drivers and that's it :)
if you use Fedora Core, you can find madwifi drivers in Extras repo.
NetGear Wireless Card - Even I managed it !
os:
Windows XPBrilliant! For the average household with the normal conenction and a standard PC this does what you need / want it to. Managed to get i tout the box, and connected in ...oohh, maybe 5mins [max], and it does the job sweet, and looks nice and slender too. A bargain.
Now it works a treat

Windows VistaSeven months ago when I bought this card it would not work no matter what I tried but then I was using a Netgear RangeMax WN modem/router. Since joing SKY I'm using one of their supplied Netgear routers and it works a treat with this router. My fault I guess. So now it gets five stars to balance up my initial rating. It does run hottish though and uses up more battery than the internal laptop wireless. Perhaps has a higher range?
