No one else reviews cables so i thought i might do :P

Anyway, bought this to accompany my new 300gb s-ata drive. Works a charm, not like i couldnt work properly really. Only thing, i think they mixed up the lengths on the description, its not 18 inches at all, no where near, its more like 18 cm! Works for me though keeps my case tidier :)

Decent cable, no faults with it at all. I thought 18" would be too long, but actually it was fine. The picture represents the product very well in both length and colour.

Nice elbow!

When I purchased this cable I thought 'great, that right-angled elbow will mean that it will not stick out from my HDD, but will fall naturally towards my motherboard.'

Unfortunately, the elbow points the wrong way! Instead of the cable coming down from my HDD it sticks up! This isn't a real problem as there is plenty of length in this cable to loop back down again - but it does make it a bit pointless!

Having said that, it could be that my HDD has it's SATA data socket configured the other way around from the "standard". It's a Hitachi Deststar.

Anyway, the cable works fine and my wife says it's a nice colour :) - so it still gets 4 stars.

I bought two of these thinking they'd point down but they actually point up. Luckily i have a 3870 x2 so i had to put a hdd at the bottom of my case for it to fit, so 1 of these were useful. But unless you need to do that i wouldn't recommend them. Good cable though.

A good buy

I purchased two of these to link my new hard disks to my morherboard. They work as expected, and look nice with the icy blue effect. Nothing special however.

I might replace the standard dull red cables with some more of these. I reccomend if you are buying a new hard disk, or are a serious case modder.

Boths way

Following up from the comments about which way these cables go from the hdd. I have a raptor 150gb, caviar se16 500gb, and a maxtor 160gb. With all the hdd mounted the same way, the cable goes down from my caviar and up from both the raptor and maxtor drives. Seems daft to me as well. Especial that Western digital decided to change the orientation from one drive to another. I think that the new caviar hdd has been designed with this type of cable in mind and given up trying to sell the secure connect cable that fits some older drives like the raptor. The new hdd are also compatable with the sata2 connecters that clip into place.
