Impressed...
os:
Windows XPI bought one of these with my first laser printer approx 9 months ago. The quality has been excellent. Overall effective cost has been less than 25% per page than my previous inkjet printer (Lexmark Z11), despite this laser cartridge containing the photosensitive drum. Has been well-hammered for assignments for university, teaching notes for work, home useage and printing copious pictures from the cbeebies website for my daughter to colour in!!! I didn't keep a track of pages, but from the paper refills would estimate approx 2500-3000.
The print quality was perfect right up to the very end; the streaking as the toner ran out went from NONE to approx 95% streaked between one page and the next!
Another thing that really impressed me was the fact that the toner box contains PRE-PAID labels to send the old cartridge (in the box, packaging etc) back to HP for recycling. It's really great to see a big company doing something environmentally useful (as well as commercially viable!) for a change. Full marks to HP. Also full marks to ebuyer for swift delivery, good prices etc - as per usual!

Not ApplicableDO NOT send these cartridges back to HP. They are very amenable to refilling.
There is a refill plug at the left end, covered by the plastic moulding. As you look at it end on, you will see a curved piece just over 25 mm in diameter which leaves a gap of about 10 mm facing you when the cartridge is in its slot.
I cut this out with a 25 mm Forstner bit (regular shoppers at Lidl will have seen these every six months or so) and covered the hole with an electrical junction box grommet (a couple of hundred for next to nothing at Screwfix). Those with less aesthetic fastidiousness could simply chop the plastic away - nobody will ever see the results, but I'm the type to neatly fold pieces of cardboard before placing delicately in the recycling bin. How sad.
With the plastic gone, a whitish opaque plug is exposed. Ease this out and 100 ml of toner can be added for another 2000 pages or so of printing.
By the time a refill has been consumed, the toner waste chamber will be close to full. If it's full, you will see smeared lines running down the page. So refill the cartridge once, but when every second refill is needed, empty the waste.
Where the "hp... ... hp laserjet ... Q2612A CE" label is, just above there is a ridge running across with a couple of fingernail sized indents. These are above the injection moulding fill points, about 10mm in diameter with a nipple or indentation in the middle. Drill out one of these (I did the left one) using about an 8-10 mm drill bit. I have some plugs which cover screw heads (get them at a DIY)which seal the hole nicely, but tape will do. I held the cartridge in the air and drilled upwards to avoid getting plastic bits falling into the waste chamber, but this is not critical. Shake out the toner waste and seal the hole, then refill.
Ebay is a good source of refill toner, or go to tonerefill.xxx or tonertopup.co.uk or whatever. A couple of hundred ml will set you back £15 or so inc postage.
I got mine from ASC Toner in Germany. 500 ml for about £5 plus around £5 postage comes to £2 per refill, about 2000 pages worth each time!
An original Q2612A cartridge is said to be good for about 10 refills before the transfer roller in the cartridge starts to fail. Ebuyer is very competitive on these, and it removes the uncertainty of remaining life in a recycled remanufactured relabelled rehashed "OEM equivalent"

p.s. this can be messy! Clean up spilt toner with dry tissues then cold water with a touch of detergent. Hot water will melt the toner and make it difficult to shift.
excellent
very good
