This is a amazing piece of kit from netgear just install the cd and we are up and running. I get great recption from this all around the house and up to 70 % at the end of the garden. i have one of these on my laptop and one on my desktop both getting 95 - 100% signal all of the time.

Never had any problem with dropped connections or no signal Great Piece of Kit.

I am using it with the DG834G router with AOL Broadband Very Good Range great Surfing Speed.

Installed software, plugged in the adapter into my laptop (second floor room) and immediately started enjoying wireless connection with a router (ground floor). It’s that easy!

Don't use the v2.0.0 Utility in Windows XP

I've been very happy with this adapter, after 10 months of use. But if you're on Windows XP, stick to v1.4.0 of the Software Utility. Question to NETGEAR Support follows:
I've recently installed "Version 2.0.0 Driver and Utility" onto my Windows XP system. When I restarted my PC, the logon behaviour had been changed by a new module C:\WINDOWS\system32\RtlGina2.dll which appears to have been loaded in by the NETGEAR software. [It is unremoveable]
They advised v1.4.0, but declined to admit that RtlGina2.dll is malware.

Just plugged it on my win200 Pro, SAMSUNG laptop and the laptop went wireless. It was a cakewalk to get it up and running.
I use it @ home to connect to Linksys access point to access ADSL.

Another masterpiece from Netgear!!

Really great USB Dongle

I have used these a few times and am really impressed with the performance. This unit took about 30 seconds to hook up with the Netgear Router (DG834g Version 2), super quick 54 MPS, real doddle to set up, pay a little more and get great performance!

EXCELENT USB ADAPTER - BRILLIENT RANGE AND SPEED

This usb adapter has excelent range and excelent speed.

This adapter was set up in 5mins and the netgear wireless software is much better than the windows wireless manager. Also the netgear you can net up different profiles for different locations so you could have one profile for home and one profile for an internet hotspot or your offices wireless network.

The adapter has excelent range reaching to the other end of the garden with the Netgear DG834G router at the other end of the house.

Highly reccomended well worth the money.

V2 Changing Windows Logon Screen
review by: Lee Shoebridge os: Windows XP

To all those who mentioned the new logon screen, this is REMOVABLE, some have mentioned other wise, simply goto START > RUN > REGEDIT (ENTER)

goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS NT > CURRENT VERSION > WINLOGON and DELETE the key string ginadll.

As simple as :)

works very well
review by: Anonymous os: Windows XP

After two or three Belkin adapters that kept dropping the connection and needing to be taken out and plugged back in again to reconnect, this Netgear adapter is so far performing flawlessly. I'm getting the full download speed through my ADSL router for the first time ever, and the connection has been solid.

It seems a bit strange to give something five stars just because it does what it's sold to do but after weeks of frustration and replacements I'm really happy.

dual athlon mobo. works great.
get latest drivers from internet.
found it better to use windows rather than their smart-wizard thingy to control network device.
