Linux Compatibility
Just a note to say that the card works well under Linux 2.4.24 (with ieee1394 support modularised). The chipset on the card that I received was a VIA VT6306, and is reported as rev 46 by lspci, though the ohci1394 module doesn't need the patch that's mentioned elsewhere for this revision.
nice piece of kit

Windows XPput card in computer
downloading DV film from JVC camcorder almost immediately
Job Done
What more can I say - great product
Mine came bundled with firewire cable
Fast delivery - thanks ebuyer !!
A simple firewire card. What more do you want?
os:
Windows XPGreat card, just like any other firewire card. No drivers or cable, but didn't need drivers anyway, Windows XP automatically installed its own drivers.
Mine cane with 1 internal port. Apart from that, whats there to say? Its a firewire card, it works like any other card, get one!
5 star product.

Windows XPMine came with 3 external and one internal port (shared). Worked perfectly straight out the box. also came with software for video capture which i haven't installed as i already have some which does the job.
I bought this to test that the card Dell supplied and have been trying to get to work for the past 3 months was faulty for DV capture. It was, this one just works a treat !!
Fantastic!

Windows XPArrived super-quick from Ebuyer, 2 days before I expected it. In retail box, which was bashed and dented by Royal Mail, so I was not too sure if it would work - plugged it in, and WInXP immediately recognised it with no problems.
Works perfectly for video capture (which is what I wanted it for). No software included with mine at all, but my one DOES have the internal firewire port, but only TWO external ports.
Not an issue for me, as I only needed one firewire port anyway.
Considering this worked fine out of the box, and my last firewire card (for another PC) was £75, at this price, I have to give it 5 stars, even though the product does not exactly match its description above!
Amazing

Windows 2000This just arrived today whilst I was at word but fortunately nextdoor accepted it for me. So anyway I've just plugged this in, booted up into windows and it was just there, no drivers required.
Software installed smoothly and have just recorded my first 1 minute clip from my camcorder.
The cable which came with this works fine, although I did buy another just in case (actually I didn't realise this came with a cable???).
Top notch bit of kit, will let you all know how well it works when I boot back up with Linux.
Ebuyer PCI Firewire 1394A Card
os:
Windows XPSlotted it in and win XP picked it up staight away. I was downloading from my panasonic mini dv camcorder in minutes - exellent buy. Came complete with 6 - 4 pin lead and ulead software.
Perfect
os:
Windows METhe card I got is orange, pretty small, and retail boxed with a ~1 metre cable. It has 4 ports as follows: 2 6-pin, 1 4-pin, and 1 internal 6-pin. Everything went without a hitch, the camera I'm using is a Samsung VP-D80 MiniDV.
Great card, great price, no problems at all hence *****.
very easy to install
os:
Windows XPI bought one of these to transfer video from my JVC Mini DV camcorder, and with in minutes I was editing video with windows movie maker 2.
It was also super easy to install with NO drivers needed for my machine (running Win XP pro SP2)
It also comes with a fire wire lead, although I would recomend you buy a longer one for a couple of quid here on ebuyer to make plugging things in a bit easier.
All in all a five star product.
Firewire Card
os:
Windows XPWas a bit of a struggle to get it into the PCI slot, but once in worked perfectly first time. Switched computer on, WinXP did it's thing automatically, and my iPod took to it immediatley.
