Windows XPthis gives me over 20 minutes runtime for just over £100 and also is added protection against components getting damaged if the power goes crazy during lightning or similar
my system which all runs off this comprises of
dell 2407 tft
linksys wifi router
cable modem
core2 duo tower
to connect devices such as routers and modems which only have standard 3 pin main plugs you can get

or you can just ust the adapter included in the box which transforms one of your old 4 way /6 way power adapters into one which is compatible with the outputs on the back of this and shoud be able to be done by anyone with opposable thumbs and a screwdriver ;)

LinuxWith one server (Dell SC420), a router, switch and telephone this will hold up for over 40 minutes in event of powerless.
Brilliant and worth every penny!
Watch out for auto UPS shutdown

Windows XPYep a good product for the money but watch out for this: I tested it, as you do, by turning off the power. PC shutdown after a couple of mins, excellent. Turned power back on, rebooted..and the UPS shut itself down in the middle of the Windows boot!! AAGH! It is clearly programmed to turn itself off a couple of mins after shutting down the PC. This seems non-configurable. The next time I test it I'll turn if off and on before turning the power back on, hopefully it will fix this.
