Good value
os:
Windows XPBought one of these modulues to go with my new Acer Aspire 5630.
Delivered extremely quickly by ebuyer/Citilink.
The fitting required a little care. The Aspire 5630 has a removable panel over the memory modules which can be removed without disturbing any seals.
Once the screws are removed the panel does come off but it needs a firm but careful touch to lever it out, it will come out just be aware it needs a bit of patience.
Slotting the module into the slot is easy, it is easy to see which way it is supposed to go.
That done refit the panel - again with care ensuring none of the location tabs get damaged. Start up yout lap top - job done.....
Great value

Review of memory used on two laptops
os:
Windows VistaI have bought two of these, one for a Fujitsu-Siemens V3515 and one for an Acer Travelmate 2423. Worked fine in both. Nice and cheap; supposedly with a lifetime warranty. The thing I like is that the memory comes in a sealed Kingston package unlike some memory I have boght in the past which was just a loose simm thrown into an anti-static bag !
How to install ?
I bought this memory card. I have no experience opening laptops though. Can anyone point me to instructions with pictures on how to add this memory card? My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5000.
Appreciate any help you can give.
Alex...
I'm not an expert on Acer systems (at least, not past any made since 1996), but I'd suggest in this order
a/ your laptop's user manual may have memory upgrade instructions
b/ acer's website - contacting their staff if necessary
c/ if you're not so worried about anything idiotic happening, just look for anything that could be a suitable panel, unscrew it and see if there's a slot that would fit your memory. if so... pop it in so it clips easily but securely in place and you're done. occasionally this is under the keyboard, but it's not *so* common any more.
