Canoscan Lide 25

Great product at giveaway price. It's tiny for an A4 flatbed and makes my old Kodak Snapscan look like a tank. No power cable so no transormer permanently plugged in to waste electricity or start a fire (I have a friend who's a firefighter and he never shuts up about stuff like that). Works straight out of the box and has good software. I particularly like the autotrim function which saves the effort of previewing before every scan and then cropping manually. Can also scan straight to pdf which will probably be useful to me in the future.

Nice scanner easy to use and recognised by FC5 as Lide 25 / Plustek - didn't have any problems setting it up at all

Canon Lide 25 Scanner - An excellent choice!

I bought this because of 2 reasons.
1. It is cheap!
2. Because it is made by Canon!

An excellent combination you will agree.

Scanner is a tad slow to warm-up / initialise but it scans fairly quickly.

It is a wee bit noisy compared to some scanners I have purchased before but it scans beautifully and there are always +s and -s with everything you buy!

Extremely easy to setup. Plug in the USB connector, load up the drivers/software and away you go! Do not let Windows XP set it up as it can not find the driver even though it recognises it as a Canon Canoscan! Oh the joys of XP!!

Scanning is easy. 3 simple buttons on the front of the scanner or you can use your photo software editing package. You can also set it up so that you can use the quick scan feature and then it will automatically open up your photo software package once it has finished scanning. Brilliant!

Overall, it is an excellent scanner for a budget price.

And Ebuyer will not let you down on delivery either. Delivered on the day they specified. First class service from them every time.

Good On MS Vista

When I upgraded to Vista shock and horror. my old scanner wouldn't work. I contacted the manufacturers asking about Vista support and was informed that none was forthcoming, ie....tough. I was very disappointed at this attitude coming from a major manufacturer as well. Anyway, I digress here, it just brings me to the point that I had to look for a repacement which would work in Vista and didn't cost too much, well this scanner had it all, good specs. good price and good looking. Setup in Vista was simple, you must dowload Vista drivers and tools from the Canon website, the rest was just a breeze. thoroughly recommended if you're in the same boat.

Worked perfectly first time. Very easy to setup and use.
The 3 shortcut buttons work beautifully with the supplied software.
All I need to do when I want to scan a document is press one button and after a while its done.
It perfect for me as all thats I need it for.

Great scanner. Because of its popularity companies have hiked up their prices. It was available at around £23 inluding VAT. When new deliveries come in it will be back at that price. Do not pay any more for it!

An excellent scanner for an amazing price!

Been using Lide series scanners for about 4 years now, this is my second one due to an accident with the first after just over 3 years good service.

Ultra compact and extremely light & portable (fits easily into my laptop bag!). A great choice whether your a light or heavy user!

Highly recommended!!

Works fine, like the straight to printer option.A bit slow but hey at this price it far outstrips my previous scanner.

Also a seamless transaction from ebuyer.

Pros: Very small and light, easy to set up and use, doesn't require a power cable - just a USB cable!

Cons: Makes a little bit of a funny sound!
