A lot of features in a small package

I have had one of these for a few weeks (sorry, not bought from Ebuyer as they were not in stock then) and am quite pleased. The unit is smaller than I expected (about the same size as other iPaqs) and the mini keyboard is surprisingly useful - although I wouldn't like to type more than short notes on it.
The GPS software (from Tomtom) is a bonus although you only get one map free - the one I chose only covers a couple of counties.
Using the iPaq as a mobile phone was a little strange at first (the unit being larger than a typical phone) but it works well enough and saves trying to fit a phone and a PDA into my pocket.
The only feature I miss is 802.11 wireless - if it had that as well it would be perfect.
Overall, a good product if you want a multi-function PDA.

Good product, but a few things to know....

Although I not bought this product from Ebuyer, This product is very good, performs very well.

Some GPS review sites consider the HP6500 series has the best connect time, for portable handled GPS devices.

The handset can also be used as a MP3 player and video player, thanks to the SD card slot support.

There are few things you should know about the HP6515: -
1) It is a little slow in some situations, and after sometime the handset does need to be completely wiped and re-loaded with personal information and applications.

2) Like other MS devices, when the HP is reset and the user tries to re-synch the handset with a PC, the PC will not re-synch with the handset, and as a result a new profile will be created.

3) As a result of point 3, backing up the handset on the PC will not help if something goes wrong - like the battery goes completely flat, and re-sets the factory defaults. The only way to resolve this is to backup the handset to SD/ mini-SD card - the back up file can also be backedup up on a PC if required. The backup on SD card will allow the user to reload the backup file on the handset without any problems.

Hope this helps.

excellent but has flaws

this is an excellent little pda/phone
but as with all great things they all have their flaws
1) the screen size is a bit of a joke, hardly any ppc apps work with it, its either too small or something
2) tomtom works but once again the screen size dampens spirits with menu icons only half showing but the tomtom works fine

3) battery dies in hardly any time, as soon as you take out the charger the precentage drops rapidly !!!

apart from the small glitches i have to admit this is one monster in a baby body !!! gps connects in less than 5 secs and thats indoors, you just need to update the gps connection software every 3 days via wap if you want to keep the lightening speed connection

has an sd slot on the side along with a mini sd slot so that TWO expansion slots not just one !!!
