Reliable Workhorse, Fantastic Price

I bought one of these processors when the Athlon 64s were the best processors around and expensive (£110!).

I have been using it for 18 months now for sometimes 8-10 hours a day. The temperatures in my media centre case are 30 degrees idle, and 40 degrees on load.

This processor is a bargain now, but since the 3800+ isnt much more expensive it is probably a better choice with the arrival of power-hungry Windows Vista and newer games.

REMEMBER OEM VERSIONS HAVE: No Sticker :-(
Other than no sticker, you rid of paying for all the things you don't want! And its a lot cheaper!

This proccessor is really good value, really good. It's an overcloker from box. Went straight to 2 ghz from box no problems, buy a artic freezer cooler, it brilliant. Is currently keeping cpu and ice cold 25 deg!
This proccesor is great for anyone on a budget, i'm on a gigabyte board cost me £50 but there are cheaper ones out there with PCI-E, where as i'm still agp, wasn't willing for the extra cost of new totr gfx card.
Plus is, when its time to upgrade, you can easily drop a dual core x2 into the same board.
Peformance is adaquate for more home and office aplications and games which don't demand a lot from the system. Get something bigger if your not into overclocking. Hoping to reach about 2.5ghz, once its bedded in, same as i got out of sempron 3000+ which is not a lot cheaper i must add.
All in all good quality proccessor, easly overclocked, and has good pottential for exellent over clocking. However i dont see why it shouldn't be at 2.0 ghz standard when it is so easy to overlclock.

However it's a lot cheaper than the 3200+ and to be honest you better off buying more and better RAM than a Faster processor.
