good psu

Almost silent PSU. Cant hear it over the noise of my other fans anyway.

Works fine with my new sapphire ATI RADEON X1800XT, which ive been told is a very power hungry PCI-E card.

Also run 5 fans and 2 UV cold cathodes no problem. Exhuast doesnt even feel warm.

The real test will be when I buy a second GFX card!

Attachable cables so you only need to plug in the ones you need, very good for cable routing if you have a see through case. Also the cables are all wrapped so look pretty neat.

I think the other reviewer was just unlucky. :(

I have one of these (ordered from ebuyer start of may 07)
Its going into a gigabyte Gigabyte GA-8I965P-DQ6 SKT 775 P965 mobo. (3.3 revision) running core duo in a Antec nine hundred case.

No issues what so ever.
No over packaging.

It doesn't look that flashy but it certainly does the trick.

This is an awesome power supply - stable, quiet, cool. It is built like a Rolls-Royce and has the flexibility of separate plug-in cables. I can't comment on its long-term stability but I can see why it's expensive. It just oozes class, especially the cable management.

The only minor niggle is that the 12V 4-pin motherboard connector is built-on to the main 20-pin one and is not fully detachable - it has to be bent round, which is clumsy. Fully unclipping would have been better. It's not really a problem - there's a spare one which can be used to power the M/B if, as for me, the sockets are physically well-separated.

Best PSU I have ever used

Im using this in an Antec P182 case with an E6300 @ 2.8ghz, an overclocked 8800GTS, 2gb 800mhz RAM and 3 hard drives (2 in a RAID-0 array).

Its solid, stable and reliable. Its virtually noiseless and the fan never changes its speed. It hardly even gets warm under full load. Its modular cabling capability is great. It just rocks.

I bought this along with a P182 case after initially considering the new Antec Sonata III with the EarthWatts 500 PSU... my advice is dont bother with that option and dont be a cheapskate like I was at first - the Sonata case seems like a rattlebox compared to the P182, and the EarthWatts 500 is noisy, hot and innefficient when compared with this great bit of PSU engineering.

£66 might seem like a lot for a powersupply, but it will probably be the best purchase you have ever made for your computer.

PSU, what PSU? Very quiet, easily drowned out by my Freezer 7 and 8800GTS. Excellent for overclocking C2D, stable rails and volts all round. Highly recommended.

Very quiet PSU

Purchased this to replace a very noisy Coolermaster eXtreme Power 650W Power (possible fault).

The 80mm fan is relatively small but spins fairly slowly and it is quieter than my Antec 300 stock fans (at low rpm) and the stock fan on my Q6600.

The fan does not drag too much air through the unit hence the quiet, but I feel if this was mounted at the top of the case and used as a secondary case cooler there could be overheating problem.

My build spec:

Q6600

Asus P5N-E SLI

Antec 300

8600GT

Nova T 500

RAM 4G

HDD 160G

HDD 500G

HDD 750G

Overall, this is my fourth build and the Antec Neo 550 is the quietest unit by far, very impressed.

Good... but

I bought this to go with my Antec P180b, which for this is recommended.

It is cool and quiet however.

Due to the extra twisting etc. some wires came out of one of the string of molex cables (there are 3 molex cables/modular cable. You are only given two modular cables, so you get 6 molex). Rendering the cable useless. I reported this to ebuyer, but they wanted me to RMA it which was nice. But I just couldn't bring myself to rewire my case again.

Antec support however, are sending me over two spare ones.

It does however come with a lot of SATA power cables, and is very cool, and very quiet.

Powers MB but wont actually turn on for me

The PSU lit up my mobo but stopped at 8.3 on the POST after trying to power up the system. Manual says this is "ATX power supply ready". The system worked fine with my previous suply.

I've tried the PSU in both 20 and 24 pin. It is a REV A 3.1.

I've got an Abit AN8 SLi PCI-E SKT939 NF4 Retail Box. Mobo is straight out of the box with whatever BIOS it came with (not sure).
