WD Care offers two service
plans tailored for your specific needs.

Western Digital products are ultra-reliable but mishaps do happen. And usually at the worst possible time. But you can protect yourself against the unexpected with WD Care.
WD Care includes two service plans which can be purchased within the standard warranty period offered on purchases of all WD Blue, Red & Green SATA Hard Drives. For just a few pounds you can extend the warranty on your Western Digital hard drives by a full year giving a total of three years complete service cover.

WD Care Express:

  • WD Care Express is ideal for users who want to protect their hardware investment with one business day turnaround plus express shipping for drive replacement.
  • Offers 1 year of additional repair and replacement service beyond the standard limited warranty WD provides with the drive, giving you a total of 3 years (WD Blue & Green) or 4 years (WD Red) of service coverage from the drive's purchase date.

WD Care Express Features:

  • This service plan provides an additional 1 year of repair and replacement service beyond the standard limited warranty WD provides with the drive, giving you a total of 3 years (WD Blue and Green) or 4 years (WD Red) of service coverage from the drive's purchase date.
  • Must be purchased within 1 year after the purchase of your drive, and activated within 30 days after purchase of the plan.
  • WD will turn-around RMA claims confirmed received before 12:00pm CET within 1 business day. Turn-around time does not include shipment time.
  • Actual turn-around times and delivery times will vary and are subject to, among other things, location and type of address being served and holidays observed by WD and its carriers. This service plan is subject to full terms and conditions. See www.wdcare.com for more information

WD Care Extended:

  • WD Care Extended is ideal for users who want to protect their hardware investment. This plan offers 1 year of repair and replacement service beyond the standard limited warranty WD provides with the drive, giving you a total of 3 years (WD Blue & Green) or 4 years (WD Red) of service coverage from the drive's purchase date.

WD Care Extended Features:

  • Must be purchased within 1 year after the purchase of your drive and activated within 30 days after purchase of the plan. This service plan is subject to full terms and conditions.
  • You don't even need to have bought your WD Hard Drive from Ebuyer to take out this care pack.
  • If you're not sure where you bought it from don't worry, as long as it is WD stock from the EU it is still eligible for this warranty extension.

How Easy Is This To Do?:


  • Register your product by going to the WD Support Portal http://support.wdc.com/ and selecting register. You may need to sign up to the site if you have never done this before.
  • On the registration page enter your serial number and it will tell you if your drive is still in warranty.
  • Once your product is registered, you can activate a service plan for the product by clicking on the "service plan" icon for the product
  • On the activation page, enter the activation code from the "Warranty Card" you have received, check the terms and conditions, then press the "Activate Service Plan" button
  • Your code is activated and your product has been updated with the appropriate service plan
