RX 6700 XT Benchmarks

Also, the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT has 96MB of low-latency Infinity Cache and 12GB of fast GDDR6 VRAM for up to 384GB/s memory bandwidth. But how does that translate to gaming, exactly? A card's number of Compute Units is good for comparison against other RX 6000 Series graphics cards, but by themselves, they don't mean much. Instead, let's see how the RX 6700 XT performs in some AAA and esports games.

RX 6700 XT & AMD Smart Access Memory

Before we run through the benchmark scores, first let's look at the testbench's other specs. To ensure the RX 6700 XT wasn't constrained in any way, it was equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU, 16GB DDR4 3,200MHz RAM and an ASRock X570 Taichi motherboard, running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and AMD Smart Access Memory, or SAM for short. SAM let an AMD CPU access an AMD GPU's VRAM in its entirety, rather than in small 256MB chunks, for up to 15% boost to performance. This constraint might've not been impactful back when cards only had 1GB of VRAM, but when modern cards like the RX 6700 XT with 12GB of VRAM exist, it holds back a card's performance. RX 6700 XT Gaming

At a 1440p resolution and an ultra-high graphics pre-set, the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT ran Assassin Creed Valhalla's GPU-heavy open-world at up to 82 FPS and Dirt 5 at up to 71 FPS. That sits comfortably above 60 frames-per-second, the frame rate target most gamers strive to achieve.

To reiterate, this is at ultra-high graphics, lowering an unoptimized option here and there could net you extra frames for a high refresh rate gaming experience. The RX 6700 XT has more than adequate performance in today's games, and enough headroom for future releases.

For esports games, the RX 6700 XT ran Fortnite at up to 126 FPS and Overwatch at up to 212 FPS at '˜Epic' graphics, the games' highest pre-set, and 1440p. RX 6700 XT Power Consumption & Design

On average, the RX 6700 XT draws 230W under load from an 8-pin + 6-pin connector. At minimum, AMD recommends a 650W PSU to power an entire RX 6700 XT-equipped gaming PC. These figures are based on AMD's reference model, a two-slot card that's 267mm in length. An aftermarket model, like ASRock's RX 6700 XT Phantom Gaming D, pushes the card to the limit.

Instead of adhering to AMD's reference model, ASRock have equipped it with 2 8-pin connectors for heightened power delivery. This lets ASRock factory-overclock the RX 6700 XT Phantom Gaming D to a 2,622MHz boost clock for faster performance out of the box, but it bumps up the required power supply to a 700W unit. As more power is coursing through the card as well, it uses a three-fan, 2.75-slot cooler that's 305mm in length to keep cool.

If you've got the room for it, a larger aftermarket card gets you the fastest RX 6700 XT performance possible, but not everyone does.
