Almost a month has passed already in 2011 and I can’t believe how fast it has gone! I made a fair few resolutions for the new year – the usual stuff, lose weight, stop smoking, stop biting my nails…but they lasted maybe a week tops. However, I did make one vow, that I am determined to stick to – make the most of my brand new Full HD TV!
My new 32″ beauty took pride of place in the bay window once the Christmas had been relegated to the garden, but it wasn’t until I watched this video (made by our super multimedia team) that I realised I was going about my viewing all wrong.
For some of you, it may be the equivalent of teaching your grandma to suck eggs. For me, it was a revelation!
I thought that a high definition TV would mean you could sit further away from the screen, but actually, since it offers greater detail, it is better to sit closer. So I don’t need glasses after all! Oh and our TV has now been moved to the alcove, some 2 metres away from the sofa.
But that wasn’t the only advice I took from the video. You see, nice girlfriend that I am, I got him indoors a lovely surround sound system for Christmas. Check these out – Xenta XForce 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers. He thinks I spent a fortune on them, but thanks to Ebuyer (!) they only cost £56.99 – bargain!
Anyway, we’ve been messing around with them trying to get optimum effect, and now we have it sorted. Thanks to a radiator and rather large sofa, equidistance was never going to be achievable. But by wall mounting the satellite speakers our surround sound system is complete.
He loves the gaming effects, I love the film effects, so two happy people and one resolution kept!
Bet you’re struggling with your resolutions too?!
