The quiet town of Spalding, Lincolnshire is the home of Welland Power, a family-owned company, founded in the early 1910’s which is run today by MD Charles Lloyd Farrow.
Welland Power has produced generators for a wide range of interesting clients and their machines are in-demand and used effectively around the globe.
Columbo International Airport, The World Bank in Bangladesh, Beijing Plaza in China and Pakistan Railways are just a few of their happy clients. 2019 saw their products providing backup power for The Eurovision Song Contest in Israel.
Welland Power has seen its profile rise in recent times as it’s been listed for the past three years in The Sunday Times SME Fast Track 100 – the national list for small and medium sized companies who have the fastest growing International sales. And now it has The Queen’s Award for Enterprise to shout about, too.
Welland Power & Ebuyer
So why are they on the Ebuyer blog? Well, every now and again, we like to feature companies who are Ebuyer customers and who are lovely to work with. As an online retailer, we don’t often find out who are behind the orders that come through our website, but there are some amazing companies out there producing world class products. And Welland Power are one of them.
MD Charlie Farrow says, “We’ve been ordering our tech from Ebuyer for years now, we have a business account and at times that has really helped us.
“People sometimes just presume that all companies are successful, but it takes a massive amount of hard work and some luck – as well as having a vision to see how and where a company can grow. Investing in IT equipment can be time consuming and stressful.
“Experience has shown me that Ebuyer is always cost-competitive, which is important to any growing business. In addition, the business team have got excellent knowledge and this expertise has helped us integrate some of their display panels into our ERP systems.”
We asked him about some recent projects. “We have done some amazing projects in the last 12 months,” says Charlie, “people don’t realise where our products are used. Our generators helped to back up the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel, but we still finished last! We have also supplied products to International Airports, Mines and we currently have an 8MW power plant in production that will be used to process bauxite, which is the world’s main source of aluminium.”
Welland Power has been supplying UK made diesel generators to Israel and the surrounding areas, including Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen and others since 1950. The Lincolnshire company has a well-earned reputation around the world for quality and reliability.
“We’ve got some really exciting times ahead,” continues Charlie, “we are in the process or tying to double our production capacity and have invested in some really exciting robotic equipment that we’ll have running in September – you can’t stand still!”
