The 8-hour spectacle set the comic book world alight with mouth-watering reveals, exciting plans and juicy behind the scenes gossip.
With the number of online events soaring massively in such a short period of time, there hasn’t been much chance for the kinks to be ironed out. Often, the tedious nature of attending back-to-back zoom calls and video conferences is overlooked.
Due to this being an essential part of communicating in the present day, nobody stopped and thought maybe this could be streamlined? Until DC stepped in.
Initially that lengthy run-time would have been enough to put anyone off, but much to every fan’s delight, the event went perfectly. Comic book and movie fans alike were blown away by not only the quality of upcoming projects, but the sheer ambition of what the company are looking to achieve.
These projects came in the form of The Batman movie in which a trailer was released giving fans a glimpse of Robert Pattinson’s take on the character, as well as some concept art from the Flash movie revealing Michael Keaton’s return in the cowl and a new trailer for Zack Synder’s original cut of the Justice League.
The biggest game of the year?
Perhaps the most exciting of these reveals was the trailer for Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
Slated for release in 2022, the brains behind the Arkham series have created a new adventure in which the conventional hero-roles have been reversed. Drawing inspiration from the 2016 movie and various comics, the game looks like an absolute treat for gamers and comic book afficionados.
As the trailer suggests, the main villain will be Superman, with the rest of the Justice League expected to make an appearance. Initial info on the game states that you will be playing as “the most dangerous villains in the DC Universe and have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill”.
The game will no doubt benefit from the Arkham series’ slick combat and fluid gameplay, potentially setting the new standard for multi-character-driven games.
