In the words of Jensen Huang (NVIDIA CEO), the RTX 50 Series “Is Just a Beast!”. With 92 Billion transistors, providing 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS) of computing power, he’s certainly not wrong. Thanks to Blackwell architecture innovations and DLSS 4, GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs will boast 2x performance compared to GeForce RTX 4090 models.
Huang also went on to announce several new AI-driven developments set to completely change the landscape of gaming for years to come, as well as the long-awaited news that GeForce Blackwell will come to laptops – meaning significant advancements in portable gaming!
Key Developments: What Does this Mean for Gamers?
Supreme Speed. Superior Visuals. Powered by AI.
The RTX 50 series is the first GPU to feature DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, the latest breakthrough in neural rendering technologies. Using a new AI model powered by NVIDIA’s supercomputers; DLSS Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, and DLAA can effectively render the most intricate elements of a scene and boost FPS to generate up to three frames per rendered frame. This leads to greater stability between frames, enhanced lighting details, and improved clarity in motion.
DLSS 4 will be supported on over 75 games the day of launch including popular titles like Black Myth: Wukong, Cyberpunk 2077, Indiana Jones: The Great Circle, Doom: The Dark Ages and Hogwarts Legacy.

Another exciting development is the introduction of NVIDIA Reflex 2, capable of reducing in-game latency by up to 75%! Developed by NVIDIA’s esports research team, this innovation represents arguably the most exciting feature for competitive gamers.
In simple terms, NVIDIA Reflex 2 allows users to aim at targets up to 30% faster by shifting or warping the existing frame. Normally, aiming to the right with a mouse would take significantly more time as the action would have to be received, and for the new camera perspective to be rendered and eventually displayed. NVIDIA Reflex 2 streamlines this process and slashes in-game latency.
Groundbreaking Realism
Ever had it when you are ‘locked in’ to a game and simple character glitches or graphics errors can completely remove you from the immersive experience?
RTX Neural Faces will allow for the most advanced rendering of digital humans in games using generative AI, leading to photo-realistic gaming characters – contributing to a much more immersive and realistic gaming experience.
In addition, RTX Neural Shaders, bring small AI networks into programmable shaders, unlocking film-quality materials, lighting and more in real-time games. The RTX Kit will be made available to game developers, enabling them to integrate individual—or all—RTX Kit SDKs directly into their rendering pipeline. We expect to see huge leaps in cinematic graphics for the latest titles.
NVIDIA ACE technologies will also contribute to increased in-game realism, by transforming in-game characters to behave more like human players. The days of carrying a useless team of computer-generated NPCs or facing unrealistically easy computer-generated foes will be a thing of the past. In PUBG for example, companions (powered by NVIDIA ACE) will dynamically work with real players to complete objectives and ensure survival.
What Does This Mean for Creators?
The GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs come with a host of new developments and AI innovations for streamers and creators. Intelligent Streaming Assistant will give streamers access to a virtual cohost, producer and technical assistant to supercharge the quality of live streams and content creation.
The NVIDIA Broadcast app offers several exciting tools to polish streams including; Studio Voice, which upgrades microphone audio, and Virtual Key Light, which relights faces to bring your streams to life.
When will the GeForce RTX 50 Series be Available to Buy?
The RTX 5090 Desktop & RTX 5080 Desktop GPUs will be available to buy through ebuyer from 30th January.
The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU with 1,406 AI TOPS and GeForce RTX 5070 GPU with 988 AI TOPS will be available to buy starting in February.
Laptops with GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPUs will be available starting in March, and RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs will be available starting in April from the world’s top manufacturers, including Acer, ASUS, Dell, GIGABYTE, HP, Lenovo, MECHREVO, MSI and Razer.
