March 2025: New GPUs, CPUs, and Epic Game Releases!

March 2025 is a huge month for gamers and PC enthusiasts! The highly anticipated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card is launching, AMD’s latest GPU and CPU offerings will be available to purchase, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is finally releasing, oh yeah, and Verdansk is returning to Warzone (or so we thought).

Read on to learn more about these key launches and how ebuyer can help you ensure you have what you need to get the most out of them.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070

The long-awaited NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 will be available to buy from 5th March at 2 pm GMT. The final 50 series card is the most budget-friendly instalment in the 50 series lineup. While the previous 5090/80/70Ti launches have sparked widespread frustration over limited stock, there will be much higher levels of 5070 stock in the market.

The GeForce RTX 5070 comes with a host of exciting features, including Blackwell Architecture for increased performance and efficiency, more CUDA Cores for parallel processing power, Tensor Cores for improved AI capabilities, Ray Tracing Cores for enhanced visual fidelity and DLSS 4 for increased FPS and reduced latency. The 5070 also supports 8K resolution and features NVIDIA Reflex 2, the revolutionary graphics pipeline technology for faster target acquisition and improved aim precision.

To get the most out of your 5070, we recommend the following upgrades:

Motherboard: The GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card uses PCIe 5.0 (for increased bandwidth and reduced latency), so you will need a motherboard that supports this to maximise performance.

For AMD chipsets, we recommend the following PCIe 5.0 compatible gaming motherboards:

Gigabyte AMD B650E AORUS ELITE X ICE AM5 DDR5 ATX Gaming Motherboard  Budget-friendly, reliable performance (£206.99)

ASUS AMD ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI AM5 DDR5 ATX Gaming Motherboard   Budget-friendly, good performance (£329.99)

For Intel Chipsets, we recommend the following PCIe 5.0 compatible gaming motherboards:

ASUS Intel TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI LGA 1851 DDR5 ATX Gaming Motherboard  Budget friendly, solid performance (£283.10)

ASUS Intel ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO LGA 1700 DDR5 ATX Gaming Motherboard High performance, built for high-end rigs (£599.99)

Power Supply Unit: A PSU with at least 750w is recommended to handle the power requirements of the GeForce RTX 5070 GPU. Failing to upgrade to a 750w PSU can lead to system instability, component damage and overall reduced performance.

AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series GPUs

On March 6th, 2025, the first of the AMD 9000 series GPUs, the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT, will be available to buy. These GPUs are built on RDNA 4 architecture and deliver exciting innovations in performance, ray tracing, power efficiency, and AI-driven capabilities.

The RX 9070 and 9070 XT GPUs offer a balance of price and performance and are designed to compete with the NVIDIA 5070 and 5070Ti. With a lower price tag and comparable performance specifications (vs NVIDIA 5070/Ti), the RX 9070/XT are great options for those looking for a powerful PC upgrade at a more budget-friendly price.

Take a look at the RX 9070/9070 XT specs at a glance (vs NVIDIA 5070/5070 TI).

There are certain areas where the AMD GPUs have an edge on their NVIDIA counterparts. For example, AMD’s RDNA architecture boasts exceptional power efficiency, which contributes to lower operating temperatures and reduced power consumption. In addition, while personal preference is ,of course, the overriding factor, AMD’s software suite is often praised for being more user-friendly, with all settings in one place.

ebuyer’s range of AMD 9000 series GPUs will be available for purchase starting Thursday, 6th March.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series Processors

Available to buy from 12th March 2025, AMD’s new  Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9 9950X3D processors will feature the latest Zen 5 architecture, 3D V-Cache technology, and support for DDR5 Memory and PCIe 5.0. The increased cores and threads in these processors (9 9900X3D 12 Cores /24 Threads | 9 9950X3D 16 Cores/32 Threads) make them suitable for the most demanding applications.

To get the most out of these new processors, you may need to make upgrades to your PC system. Here are the key components you should consider upgrading:

Motherboard: Both CPUs will require a motherboard with an AM5 socket. Ideally, you should look for motherboards with B850, X870 or X870E for optimal performance.

RAM: Both CPUs support DDR5 memory, which offers increased bandwidth and enhanced performance. We recommend at least 32 GB of DDR5 RAM with speeds of 5200 MHz or higher. Discover our extensive range of PC RAM.

PSU: A PSU with at least 750w is recommended to handle the power requirements of these CPUs. Failing to upgrade to a 750w PSU can lead to system instability, component damage and overall reduced performance. View our range of 750W+ PSUs.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, the latest instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, is finally releasing on 20th March. Originally scheduled to launch on the 15th of November, 2024, this highly anticipated game was first delayed to the 14th of February and then again to the 20th of March. Ubisoft stated that the delays were due to the company needing more time to polish and refine the game – from what we have seen of the teaser gameplay, it should be worth the wait!

Rumoured to have a file size of around 120GB on console and 100GB on PC, investing in increased storage could be essential to ensure that you don’t have to delete any games to make space for this title.

Return to Verdansk in Style!

The Verdansk Warzone map was first launched 5 years ago. Let that sink in. While March 2020 may seem like a distant memory now, Black Ops 6 was set to reintroduce the Verdansk map on Tuesday, the 18th of March, at 5 pm GMT. However, recent news has confirmed that the release date has been delayed until the 3rd of April.

Due to the cultural significance of the original Verdansk map, the gaming community is buzzing with excitement and quietly hopeful that Warzone will return to its former glory.
