Barebones computers from Ebuyer.com
Building our own computer is a project many of us are keen to take on. Many do take the plunge but others shy away from the challenge. After all, building a PC from scratch is, for many of us, a daunting prospect.
But a great way to get into the hobby, or simply to find a great value computer, is with a barebones PC. As the name suggests a barebones PC is basically a stripped down machine with the basic components.
This allows the more advanced builder to customise the machine to their exact requirements whilst giving less experienced builders a solid platform to work from.
What's included?
Some barebones computers are more, well, barebones than others. As you will see from the machines on this page, the specifications do vary. Some will be near enough fully kitted out whilst others will have a minimum number of components. But, typically, you can expect to find a computer case with the motherboard and power-supply already fitted.
It is then up to the builder to add optical drives, memory, CPU etc to flesh out the machine. Add a monitor, keyboard and mouse and you are good to go – not forgetting an operating system of course.
