AMD graphics cards are known for their competitive pricing while still delivering high performance. This makes AMD graphic cards a top choice for more budget-conscious gamers and power users. What's more, AMD's range caters to a wide range of performance targets, with entry-level to enthusiast-grade graphics solutions. So whether you're looking to upgrade your current setup or build a brand-new PC, an AMD graphics card is a performant, cost-effective option. Pick up your next graphics card AMD at ebuyer today.
Best AMD Graphics Cards
As is the case with most computer hardware, the higher the product number of an AMD graphics card, the faster it will generally be. At the entry-level of AMD's product stack, you have x600-class cards. These budget models are the best AMD graphics cards for those looking to play the latest gaming releases at 1080p and a solid frame rate, without breaking the bank.
For context, the first number of an AMD graphics card's product number denotes its generation, with each new generation being more capable and power-efficient than the last. For example, the RX 6600 is from the older Radeon RX 6000 Series of AMD graphics cards, whereas the RX 7600 is from the newer RX 7000 Series. What's more, the 'XT' and 'XTX' suffixes denote the faster and fastest version of an AMD graphics card respectively. When comparing the RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT, the latter is the best AMD graphics card of the two.
Next up the stack are AMD's mid-range x700-class cards. Often this is where you find AMD's best graphics card in terms of price-to-performance. A card like the RX 6700 XT delivered the best bang-for-buck of its generation, for example. These mid-range models offer up a lot of performance for the money, capable of running modern triple-A games at 1440p and higher than 60fps.
AMD's high-end consists of x800-class cards, like the RX 7800 XT, which are fast enough to render the most graphically-demanding titles at 4k. But this isn't even the outright best AMD graphic card. There's still x900-class cards, like the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX. Churning out hundreds of frames-per-second, even with maxed-out 4K settings, these AMD graphics cards produce the ultimate gaming experience - so long as you've got the CPU horsepower to back it up.
What Is a Graphics Card?
Put simply, your computer's graphics card is responsible for producing the image you see on your monitor.
A computer's central processing unit, or CPU for short, is made up of a handful of extremely powerful cores that like to chew on complex equations and computations. Think the behind-the-scenes operations of a game, like AI pathfinding and physics simulations. Due to their limited core count, however, CPUs aren't great at processing thousands of small, identical operations.
That's where the graphics processing unit, or GPU for short, comes in. Unlike CPUs, GPUs are comprised of thousands of less powerful cores. But crucially, this allows them to work in a parallel manner, churning out all these little operations that the CPU would otherwise become overwhelmed by. Particles, shaders, textures, models, and so on are all rendered on the GPU at a considerably faster rate, in turn enabling high frame rate gaming experiences.
Do I Need an AMD Graphics Card?
Nowadays, most CPUs have GPUs built into them, known as integrated graphics. But as they share the same physical space as the CPU, these integrated graphics are often small and not that powerful as a result. Really, they're designed to handle web browsing, video streaming, and some light gaming at most - not the newest, most graphically demanding releases.
So, if you want to play AAA titles at their absolute best or render out high-res videos as fast as possible, then you'll need to install a dedicated graphics card - like one of these AMD Radeon graphics cards. The faster the graphics card, the higher you'll be able to crank up a game's graphics settings, resolutions, and frame rate.
Why Choose an AMD Graphics Card?
AMD aren't the only graphics card manufacturer around. There's also their main competitor, NVIDIA. Both AMD and NVIDIA produce a wide variety of graphics cards, but we'd say that NVIDIA has more of the upper-end of the market on lock. That's not to say AMD don't produce high-end graphics card, but the performance of ultra-high-end graphics cards like NVIDIA's RTX 4090 are in a league of their own. Ray-tracing performance is another area in which NVIDIA has AMD beat, and while both companies have developed image reconstruction techniques, NVIDIA's Deep Learning Super Sampling is of a higher image quality than AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution.
All that said, AMD's strengths lie more in the entry-level and mid-range market segments, where they tend to offer a greater value-for-money than NVIDIA. Take AMD's RX 7800 XT and NVIDIA's RTX 4070, for instance. Both perform similarly, but the AMD Radeon graphics card launched at a lower MSRP while offering an additional 4GB of video memory to boot. And if you're building a gaming PC on a budget, then an AMD graphics card is almost certainly the best choice.
Radeon RX 7000 Series Graphics Cards
Built on the ground-breaking RDNA 3 GPU architecture, Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics cards boast vastly improved performance-per-watt and enhanced ray-tracing capabilities over the previous generation. And with full support for the latest iteration of FidelityFX Super Resolution, FSR 3, these AMD Radeon graphics card really do deliver on the well-worn cliche of elevating your gaming experience to the next level. Treat yourself to the latest technologies of Radeon RX 7000 Series graphics cards, now available at ebuyer.
