High-performance DDR5 RAM
DDR5 memory is the new generation of RAM. Super-fast and able to handle huge project files DDR5 will make a massive difference to gamers, designs and PC enthusiasts.
Is DDR5 better than DDR4?
If by better, you mean faster then yes. DDR4 tops out at around 4600MHz. We have DDR5 kits at 4800MHz and even 5200MHz. These are amazing clock speeds and gamers, and creators will be licking their lips at how they will be able to push to the performance of their PC.
Will my motherboard support DDR5 memory?
If you are looking at DDR4 vs DDR5 there is only one winner on performance. But of course, you do have to consider compatibility. There is no point buying DDR5 4800MHz RAM if your motherboard does not support it. Carefully check your existing motherboard, or if your buying new, double check the specs in the product description to ensure the motherboard is DDR5 compatible. You can find your DDR5 motherboard here.
Should you upgrade to DDR5 RAM?
It does of course depend on your current set-up. If you want to future proof your PC and give it a performance boost (and your motherboard supports it) then yes, upgrading to DDR5 makes sense. Adding 4800MHz DDR5 will keep your PC at the cutting edge.
