Good
operating system:Windows 7A good optical drive.
Note that it does not come with any screws to hold it in place (most motherboards will come with screws enough for this, but it doesn't hurt for people to be aware).
Comes with Nero8 Essentials, which was a nice surprise.
Very Nice
operating system:Windows XPI bought two of these to replace one defunct and one very old DVD Rom drives.
OEM so no screws or cables of course BUT each came with a copy of Nero 8 Essentials which was an unexpected bonus.
A cinch to install and much quiter than either the LG or LiteOn they have replaced.
Ebuyer service and delivery time excellent as usual.
Optiarc AD-7240S OEM
operating system:LinuxThis LiteOn IHAS124Y is an Optiarc AD-7240S OEM drive.
The latest firmware at time of writing is BL0X, which is not the version that came on my drive.
It's a good solid DVD and CD writer.
As good as the rest
operating system:Windows VistaGot this for an Acer that I was rebuilding for my mum as I used the Sony 1 in the Acer for my new build with windows 7.
Installed in the little case and it was fine.
Not to loud, pretty fast, I have only used it to install windows vista so far and when it was doing it, got the drive noise you would expect. Vista installed in about 15-20mins.
So as good as the Sony really, if my drive in my pc here went wrong I would just replace it with this because it seems in this case, the "you get what you pay for" don't apply.
