Amazing value for money!

Nice Xmas Gift
operating system:Not ApplicablePicked one of these up on offer at £39.99 - seems a bargain for that price. Cheapest elsewhere was Amazon at £42.99, however that one only had a desktop stand not a full sized tripod.
I'm no astronomer, but quality seems good. Will post again what my son (16) thinks after Xmas day/
Only good for moon
operating system:Not ApplicableI tried it a couple of times. Its only good for looking at the moon. you can barely see the holes on the moon though=/ when it comes to stars.... its really useless. Im no expert @ astronomy. id say spend a 100 more and get a motorised telescope. this one is not very stable as it is very light. i tried putting some weight on the middle of the stand and it was a little bit better.
To the person who said it's useless for stars
ALL telescopes are useless for looking at stars - even the Hubble Space Telescope. What scopes like this are for are for looking at the craters on the moon, being able to see that Jupiter, Venus and Mars are planets, projecting the Sun onto a piece of paper to see the sunspots, maybe even looking at some nebula too. For the price, this is a decent scope, but you might be better off with a decent set of binoculars which will be more useful generally and easier to point at what you want - something like a set of 10x50.
