Great Product

Decent drive for the price but upgrade the f/w!!

Windows XPNot had a coaster yet, writes pretty quick but it's been a little noisy reading some of my discs that were written on a Samsung.
The base f/w has a *really* annoying piece of software included called Bluebird which will try to install itself and causes Vista to pop up a dialogue box everytime you close the door. Easy to fix with the latest f/w from LG which can be found at http://www.lge.com/us/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=GH22NS50
Creates coasters with Verbatim Single Layer DVD disks

Windows XPPurchased this a couple of months ago, and while it seems OK on dual layer disks, it creates coasters on plain Verbatim DVD-R disks that still work fine on my older single-layer recorder.
Just a Suggestion...
But the retail boxed version of this drive is currently only 20p more. Might be worth considering as you'd get some SATA cables with it that are worth a few quid. See quickfind code 172821.
