Works Well
operating system:Windows 7I have been using this for some time with many different formats of card, including the micro cards used in mobile phones. This card reader has a quality feel to it and has always worked well - I have used it on a number of different computers. The mechanism used to hold and pop out the cards gives confidence and so far no cards have got stuck, which has happened on cheaper models I have owned (and thrown away) previously. This one has a nice (fairly hardy) design so can be thrown in a bag when travelling with no worry that it will fall apart.
Kingston USB Card Reader (19 in 1)
operating system:Windows 7This is an inexpensive piece of equipment that works straight out of the box. It has a small integral USB connector that is long enough to be attached to a laptop and folds away to prevent damage when not in use. There is also an extension cable for when the unit cannot be placed close to a UDB port. I use this card reader for industrial purposes on site, not sat on a desk in an office or at home, and it has never let me down.
I ordered this item at 6:40pm on a saturday evening and it was delivered by 10:10am on Monday and that was by standard delivery. Excellent service again by Ebuyer.
Great Value for Money
operating system:Windows XPI bought this model in particular because it's read rates with my memory card (Sandisk Extreme III 16GB 30MB/s) is very high. I haven't had a chance to check it yet, but I have seen benchmarks that suggest in real world situations it will transfer at around 27.5MB/s for this particular combination.
I can't really fault it as it is fast and cheap - it does exactly what you want it to do which is transfer data quickly and it doesn't cost much which is always a bonus (more money to spend on the memory card or lens). My only comment is that the build quality doesn't feel as good as I would have hoped or expected. Given the price and performance I don't think you can complain about it..
My camera (Sony a350) transfers from my old 2GB Ultra II at around 8.5MB/s, and my old Belkin reader would do it at around 8.2MB/s, but the Kingston managed to get around 12.7MB/s which is a great boost.
