Mega Fast

Fantastic Drive
operating system:Windows 7Can't recommend it enough. Running two and they are plenty quick enough. Final formatted capacity 465GB NTFS. You can't go wrong with these. CustomPC magazine recommend them for almost any purpose machine.
my 1st samsung and i like
operating system:Windows XPUsually swear by Western Digital as used many over the years and have proven to be well priced, awesome performance and extremely reliable... until now. Well it's the first time a WD has failed on me and compared to Hitachi, Seagate and others I still think they are brilliant drives, but decided it was enough incentive for me to try my first samsung at home. This drive is about as fast as the WD160GB sata2 7200rpm it replaces but not as fast as my 640GB WD. It is however much cooler, and also a bit quieter.
It also came better packaged than any other OEM HD I've been sent as it was in a hard (albeit thin) plastic case which imho holds it better than the usual anti-static bag my seagates and WDs usually come in. There was also a wee packet with 4 screws of the perfect size included.
As always well packed by ebuyer too using a bubble envelope and then stuck inside some of the big bubbles they use inside packing boxes... brilliant :)
Only thing I can't comment on yet is reliability as it's still new, but for now it gets 5 stars.

operating system:Windows 7I have fitted several of these drives and have two in my own system. They are fast and very quiet also' Throughput speed is brilliant. When benchmarked the access time is a little slower than the WD blacks but not so you'd notice, transfer rates however are noticably superior. Great all round drive - Highly recommended
