fantastic
operating system:Windows XPbrilliant bit of kit. was looking for something to add wifi threw out the house as i have a voip cable router without wifi and this has done the job nicely. it has POE (power over ethernet) which is a godsend. pulled a cat5 cable upstairs to the middle of the hall screwed the device to the wall plugged the power supply in downstairs in my computer room connected it to the POE injector then cat5 to the POE socket plugged the LAN into my PC configured the device then unplugged the LAN from the back of the PC put it on a spare port on the router and bingo, done and dusted.
top tips:
read threw the user guide on the CD first
you have to configure your computers TCP/IP to 192.168.1.2, 255.255.255.0 to access the device.
set LAN to dynamic IP if you are connecting to a port on a router (save changes).
turn off QSS as its a gimmick (save changes).
if your in the UK set your region as such (save changes).
set security to WPA-PSK then add your PSK password (write it down) (save changes).
plug device into your router and wait for the all clear the off you go.
don't forget to change your TCP/IP settings back on your PC.
when setting your wireless devices remember that your security is WPA-PSK type your password in the box and away you go.
bit nippy about having to set your tcp/ip but apart from that its great every room in my 3 bedroomed house has a wireless connection with great reception from a single device..

Great product but...
operating system:Windows 7I should've read the comment about PoE!
I've been using one at home for a while using the PoE injector supplied. Performance has been faultless so I recommended it to a friend to replace a Netgear 802.11bg PoE AP. Needless to say it didn't work when I connected it to his PoE switch so had to use the PoE injector instead.
If you see PoE mentioned in a product description nowadays you assume it is compatible with the latest standards. "Not PoE IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at compatible" should be the first line in the marketing blurb or specification.
Apart from that it is great value.
Works a treat once you know how to configure it
I bought this with the intention of linking my Humax PVR or other av stuff to my router upstairs (something to note, there is only on Ethernet port).
First think you need to do is change the IP address of your pc to 192.168.1.100. This is a must. This then allows you to access the TP link. (you will change it back after the install. Once in, change the ip address of the TP link to 192.168.1.250. You do this because most routers use the same IP as the Default IP that the TP link uses, so change the TP.
Now set the mode of operation to "universal repeater" and choose UK and click on "survey", find your router and connect. Then save
Save this and then change you PC IP back to "obtain IP auto" and that should be it.
Hope that helps, I was on the phone 1hour trying to sort all that out.
Mine does the job very efficently now and am happy.
POE
Good Access Point - and good interface
BUT - THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT SUPPORT PoE IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at. Rather it has its own 'pseudo-PoE' injector and uses the 12v supply to power the adapter. - So fine if you want to use the wall-wart PSU and the supplied 'pseudo-PoE' injector -but not if you want to use a proper PoE switch
It is not compatible with ANY PoE switches, including TP-Links own TL-SF1008P!!!...
Really bad - as it doesn't mention this in any documentation.
TP-Link tech support was helpful to point this out - but obviously gave no solution...
