Buffalo AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N300 High-Power Product Description
In addition to its superior streaming capabilities the WZR-HP-G300NH includes a USB port to attach a USB hard drive. This allows the WZR-HP-G300NH to provide simple NAS (Network Attached Storage) services on your network for easy file sharing across all your connected devices.
The WZR-HP-G300NH has been further improved to support 3G modems, so that even when there is no connection available, or the connections is slow, you can still connect via your 3G connection to the Internet.
WDS (Wireless Distribution System) feature is a solution to expand wireless coverage in combination with other Buffalo wireless routers. If there is a dead spot from obstructions or wide coverage required, these are easily overcome with this feature. Setup is easy with a simple one push button using AOSS. The advanced firmware includes Buffalo's AirStation One-Touch Secure System (AOSS), BitTorrent capabilities and multiple levels of wireless and wired security. With wireless speeds of up to 300Mbps and adjustable antennas, the WZR-HP-G300NH is the perfect solution to upgrade an existing wireless network, providing greater speed and coverage than Wireless-G.
Please note: networking components such as switches, routers and wireless devices require that speeds & standards be consistent throughout the network to gain optimum performance. To avoid compatibility clashes or for advice, please contact us on solutions@ebuyer.com.

Not a version 2 G300NH
operating system:Windows 7These are sold as Linux routers ie. in 90% of cases, for flashing.
Despite the name this is not the version 2 of the G300NH, it is a completely different model. Yes, there is a version 2 variant within the G300NH model, but there is also this, a different chipset inside the same plastic case and instead of calling it a "G350NH" or something, they left the door open to confusion.
So predictably, a number of people have bricked these by flashing G300NH firmware - openwrt etc. They didn't pore over the tech specs carefully enough is the argument - but I have flashed routers maybe into three figures and have not had this fast one pulled on me before.
Check online and the experience with obnoxious Buffalo tech support is universal and from my own experience, I recommend you just take the hit, in my case two hits. Or spend hours with ARP caches, switches, tftp and trunk/alpha firmware yourself. Ebuyer won't take them back - and why should they?
Model labels are vital and any ambiguity is a real technical flaw. By their intransigence on top of the stupidity of unclear model naming, Buffalo are just assasinating their own brand name - at least among tech people.
I recommend the TP-Link WR-1043ND (QuickFind code: 259806) instead, it has the same internal chipset as this but much better support (openwrt, ddwrt), external antenna connections and is considerably cheaper.
Debricking
A follow up to help others with a bricked router - like this person:

Here is a reasonably quick solution cobbled from a few posts online:
First, if your main internet router is 192.168.1.x things may later clash so log into it and change to eg. 192.168.0.1
1) Download/install pumpkin: http://kin.klever.net/pumpkin
2) Download openwrt trunk firmware (or use the proper release candidate when it becomes available):
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-g300nh2-squashfs-tftp.bin
3) Set your windows network to: 192.168.11.2 > 255.255.255.255.0 > (gateway) 192.168.11.1 - and turn off firewall
4) From command prompt (start button>cmd) enter:
route print (note the number of your lan card eg. "10")
netsh interface ipv4 add neighbors 10 192.168.11.1 02-AA-BB-CC-DD-1A (replace "10" with your number)
5) Start pumpkin. Choose "Put File" > Remote host: 192.168.11.1 > Local File: (browse to downloaded firmware)
6) Now plug the computer into the lan socket right next to the wan socket on the router.
7) Click OK on pumpkin and then **immediately** power on the router.
8) After the file is succesfully transferred, wait a bit, then fix your windows network settings back to normal.
9) Plug the broadband into the wan socket on the Buffalo, then power it off and restart.
10) Once up, from the command prompt enter line by line:
telnet 192.168.1.1
opkg update
opkg install luci
/etc/init.d/uhttpd enable
/etc/init.d/uhttpd start
You should now be able to connect with a web browser to your router at http://192.168.1.1
Product review
With the best will in the world the one star review by "Anonymous" isn't really a review of the product as supplied, but a review of what they thought they were buying and highlighting their own misadventure.
Nowhere in the description is there any mention of the device being a "Linux Router". Conversely, it quite clearly states:-
"To avoid compatibility clashes or for advice, please contact us on solutions@ebuyer.com."
Also the device recommended by "Anonymous" as being "considerably cheaper" is in fact only £8 cheaper, and is not as fully featured. ie - no DLNA Media server. But then - if you don't want what you are being provided with (because you are going to flash it to another feature set) then I suppose that isn't important to you.
Personally, to get a professionally built and matched set of firmware/hardware that matches my requirements, I think I'd rather pay a small premium than buy cheap, make a mistake and then complain because I had.
Just my opinion.
