The ZyXEL’s PLA4225 makes it convenient and easy for you to connect up to four media devices, such as Internet HDTVs, Blu-ray™ players, DVRs, and game consoles, to the home network through any electrical outlets in every corner of your home.
The advanced Quality of Service (QoS) features improve the quality of multimedia streaming applications such as triple play services, HD video streaming, high-speed Internet access and VoIP.
Please note: networking components such as Powerline adapters require that all adapters must work within the same HomePlug standard to remain compatible, for example HomePlug AV (HPAV) adapters with communicate with other HPAV Powerline components, regardless of whether they are 200Mbps or 500Mbps. Older 85Mbps adapters work on the different HomePlug 1.0 standard & are not compatible with HomePlug AV adapters.
All Powerline products will connect to any switch or router Ethernet port. Powerline adapters can be used with extension leads (except surge protection ones), and will work across different ring mains so long as they share a common fuse box. Great Piece of Kit.
operating system:Windows 7Stick one of these in a socket behind your TV (works fine on an extension) and you've got plenty of Ethernet ports to plug your TV, PVR, BlueRay player, whatever, into. Plug one of the pass through versions (PLA4215) into the socket your router's using and with one patch lead Your TV etc are connected to your whole network and the Internet. Probably cheaper than buying wireless dongles.
Brilliant piece of kit
operating system:Windows 7Bought this and a single port unit to connect two NAS boxes in one room to the main network with my HTPC in another. These replaced a pair of 200mbps units which worked fine for SD content and 720p HD but couldn't handle full 1080p HD content ripped from blu-ray's.
After a few weeks of testing these seem to work really well. Initially I had some buffering of the high bitrate content from the NAS box but after I swapped the network cables around so that the box with the movies on it (which comprise all my blu-ray rips) plugged into the first port on the adaptor, everything has worked really well.
I had purchased these specifically because the one substantive review I could find of the various 500mbps adaptors showed these as having the highest consistent speeds and after the initial problem they haven't disappointed.
Very very happy with Zytel units
operating system:Not ApplicableI couldn't be more pleased with these homeplugs, or indeed ebuyer's pricing and service. I bought this 4 way switch to go with the 2 unit starter pack. They integrate seamlessly with my legacy Belkin 200AV units and provide about a 70% speed increase like for like. Of course 500Mbbs is unrealistic in real life but they are more than quick enough to distribute my 50meg Virgin service around the house. I just got Sky Anytime+ activated and have one of the Zytels plugged into sky box to give me the VOD service.
Build quality compares well to Belkin and they worked out of the box on both OSX and W7 platforms. Three units including the 4 way for £104 plus free delivey which took two days from order confirmed.
Very happy to recommend.
