Excellent Router
operating system:
Windows XPI have had this router for just over a day, before setting up I used a WiFi sniffer to find a free channel to set this up on. Once I had surveyed the area I next had to set up the router. Setup took all of 15mins which is quick, and after a further 40 mins I had mine locked down, upgraded firmware and it talking to my server.
Wireless coverage is fantastic especially since my last router was just G, and I can pick up my wireless over the road (router near front window)
The display is good and I have already played with this for a while, yes as stated the buttons are fairly hard to use but you wont be using them for long.
All in all I can say that this router is the best I have owned and working in I.T for a long time I would say that we may even get some for our meeting rooms!
5 Star Product
p.s. 10/10 for delivery Ebuyer!
Great Looking Router
operating system:
Windows VistaExcellent product, good signal & you get to know just how fast your connection is!
I'm also told that this is about to be relaesed in an ADSL format too! I know several of my mates will want this, as they couldn't buy the cable version & have been envious since!
Belkin N1 Vision Wireless cable gigabite router
operating system:
Windows XPAn absolute dream to set up, in no time Had my Main PC and laptop running on wireless and the speed is excellent, I haven't noticed any drop in speed, also checked download performance and all fine with that as well. used it over 3 weeks now without any problems.
I Know nothing about setting up a wirelss network and didn't need to know, the router did it all for me. I've bought 2 more, for Daughter and Son. Brilliant and a good price from Ebuyer.
BELKIN N1 VISION
EXCELLENT PRODUCT BUT RANGE IS NOT WHAT IS STATED /THE PUSH BUTTONS NOT THAT RESPONSIVE
No problems so far
operating system:
Windows XPHad this router for a couple of weeks now. All working fine and very easy to set up. No connectivity problems and wireless range is superb. Once
I had it up and running downloaded the latest firmware
using the routers setup
webpage. You have to do this by a straight Ethernet cable connection rather than by
wireless just in case you loose the connection. One minor issue is that you have to press quite hard on the left/right function buttons on the front of the unit to get them to respond. I have just ordered a N1 wireless laptop card to increase speeds for streaming HD material direct to my Mediaplayer. What sold it to me was the LCD panel indicating your current connection status and download speed to name a few. It may not have the fastest throughput on paper but I would still recomend it for it's useful display information.
Belkin Vision N1 router
operating system:
Windows XPI had a Netgear gigabit cable router which failed and I got it replaced and sold it and bought this Belkin one. It has been fine for the past 5 months but the wifi has now failed in it causing intermittant loss of connectivity. I am in the process of RMA'ing it to Ebuyer for a replacement. I would recommend this router and hopefully Ebuyer will replace it.
Poor Draft N performance with Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
operating system:
Windows VistaThis router although good signal strength for G standard, refuses to connect Intels 4965AGN (in Dell XPS1730) at N speeds, I use by default WPA2 security, but also as mentioned on tech support site tried no security, but many other notebook brands also suffer same issue other than Dell's with connecting at or near to Draft N speeds, also as mentioned previously the rubber buttons are unresponsive and menu speed very slow and 2 users on Dell forum who had issues with N1 vision have now resolved them by going to Netgear router instead, so be warned if you have a notebook using Intel's 4965AGN, wired speed is fine, so just a shame it's wireless and buttons are so poor
Disconnects
Everytime this router ntp polls for time every 2 hrs it will drop you outa any games you may be playing phoning belkin results in silent treatment. Good product let down by poor parent company support.
Disconnects without warning - thumbs down :(
operating system:
Windows XPI've had this set up a while now and was happy with it at first, it was easy to set up and does look really smart with the display screen showing some useful info. They could have put most of the info onto one screen though, but instead they spread it out over several screens to scroll between, making you have to choose what is displayed or not. A minor niggle, but they really should of put a bit more thought into the display.
Now I have been using this router for a while, I am at the point of thinking of unplugging it completely and not using it anymore. Reason: it disconnects me too often, if I am playing a game the connection just drops (usually at a critical moment during play) without warning, or if I am chatting to a friend it becomes too frustrating not knowing if part of the conversation didn't arrive. It's not just playing games or chatting that the connection will drop, it will drop your connection regardless of what you're doing on your PC. At first i thought it was my settings, so I checked all my ports were set up correctly several times, but I now realise other people are having similar issues with this router.
Look out for mine, it'll be going cheap on ebay soon, I really have had enough of it.
Disconnections
Those who are having problems
with the disconnections when
doing online gaming.
Have you checked the log to see
if your disconnection times are
when the router is updating the time?
You can nuke the time update service by using this page
http://192.168.2.1/wukongjiuwo.html you will have to re-do your fix if you restart the router
If you find it crashes or reboots often.. disable protected mode (its only for b)
If you do not use b then turn
it off, as you only have the
option (unless yours is different) to disable wireless or have b/g/n on use this page
http://192.168.2.1/wifi.html
If you use these pages & break
it dont moan at me, if it aint
broke dont fix it! :)
