Fantastic Laptop

Windows VistaHaving used HP hardware at work for years i thought i would go for the same for my home laptop and im glad i did. The backup and support you get from HP it better than any other manufacturer ive tried. The product pages on the website are brilliant for all the latest downloads for your particular product. As per usual Ebuyers next day delivery was bang on time. The laptop arrived well packaged and carefully handled. As for the machine its self, i guarantee you WILL NOT beat this spec of computer for this money. The automatic installation of Vista is simple and clever when you first switch it on, and it seems....finally that a laptop manufacturer has realised that when we buy a new computer we really really dont want 37 free trials of antivirus/ISP/Office/etc/etc. computers ive set up in the past have so many free trials of software in the startup that after its taken 15 minutes to fire up each time you use it you wish you hadnt bought it. This one comes with an MS Office trial, a very unobtrusive Mcaffee trial and and AOL trial, again all these are very easily removed if you dont want them. The machine is quick, quiet, the screen/graphics are superb thanks to the onboard ATI graphics ,which can be updated direct from the ATI/AMD website so you always have the latest Catalyst Suite. The OS is very quick as well. Dont listen to people who have bought Vista machines and whinge and moan that its too slow blah blah, thats because they havent bought the right spec machine for the job. Vista on this laptop works just as quick, if not quicker than any XP machine ive ever used thanks to the excellent processor/ram combination. The webcam and microphone are excellent as well, especially if you feel like ditching the keyboard for a while and having a go at using Vista voice recognition! All in all its a fantastic piece of kit. Well priced, well made, excellent spec and pretty much future proof considering you can expand the Ram to 8gig! Go on....you know you want one!
Great Laptop!

Windows VistaI've had this laptop for a good few days now and have had time to try all the different features. This is the best laptop i've had by far (and one of the cheapest)
Screen: The 15.4" WXGA screen is excellent, whites are brilliant white, darks are dark and the screen is bright enough for anyone! Also seems to have a great response time when on games.
Sound: The speakers on this laptop dont have the best bass (but which laptop does!) However the speakers are good quality and are loud enough for pretty much anything! You can clearly hear music from another room
Keyboard: The keyboard is good quality, keys are very responsive and feel nice to type on. The small shift key takes a bit of getting used to but all in all the keyboard's layout is very good!
Wifi & Bluetooth: I haven't actually got a Wireless N router but the wireless card in the laptop is great, can get a decent signal mostly anywhere in the house. Bluetooth also works very nicely and i've had no problems transferring pictures and songs to/from my phone.
Graphics: The HD3200 does a good job with games on the laptop, bear in mind it wont play the most demanding games but for stategy/simulation games (such as Simcity, Railroads, Tropico, Sea Dogs) it works very well! Think of it as an entry-level gaming laptop.
RAM: The ram in the laptop is quick and windows reflects this in it's speedy loading times and loading of programs. Windows Vista (32 bit) that comes with this laptop picks up the 4Gb of Ram in the system.
Processor: The processor handles pretty much anything i've tried on this laptop so far in it's stride! Is quick at loading up programs and even handles (in conjunction with the gfx chip) 1080p video files!
Trackpad: The trackpad on the laptop is pretty much the same as any other, it works well and is responsive. The botton design is quite nice too!
Battery Power: Using the "HP Optimized" setting I managed to get almost 3 hours battery life out of the laptop (bluetooth turned off, wireless on downloading, screen at 60% brightness and speakers at 75%). So in my opinion this battery is great! Considering my Toshiba Satelite Pro it only managed 1.5 hours, almost double the battery life!
Overall: I would recommend this laptop to anyone purely because of the price and the amount of laptop you get for that price! Is great all around for pretty much anything (except high end gaming that is) and can do most things your PC can do (probably better if your pc is more than a year old!)

FANTASTIC SPEC FOR THE MONEY VERY FAST LAPTOP HAS BEEN FAULTLESS, I ADDED A TV TUNER AND IT RUNS GREAT , GOOD SOUND, GOOD SCREEN, A REALLY GOOD PURCHASE FROM EBUYER, A GREAT COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH, EVEN IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM THEY ARE VERY EFFICENT. GO FOR IT!!

The HP will run XP. The great think about HP is that they usually have their drivers online.

Regarding Other Comments....
Regarding the people with various questions
1) The webcam is excellent. A friend of mine has a similar Compaq version of this laptop and the Webcam software is slightly different whereby he can distort pictures of his face etc etc for a giggle, the HP webcam software is very simple, very clear and one of those does what it says on the tin type things. Very clear picture.
2)Ive got the use of 4 PC's with various Vista OS's on them and do not take any notice whatsoever of the Vista rating system. Its simply there as an "Ooh look at me my number is higher than yours" type thing. From memory this laptop gets a 4.0 rating i think (please correct me if im wrong) However that is totally insignificant when it comes to the day to day operating of the machine. Graphics was vista's main thing, but after the first 5 minutes of seeing Vista Aero and giving a few ooh and arrs isnt it lovely it generally gets turned off as it uses more system resources. Trust me this laptop runs Vista perfectly.

Windows VistaJust Purchaced this laptop, ebuyer did a great job and was delivered next day as promised. Straight out the box there were absolutely no problems, set up was quick and easy, good all-round specs mean it handles just about anything i have thrown at it so far. Easily handles virus scan, at the same time as itunes(muted) and iplayer. Not as pretty a laptop as its possible to buy, but looks pretty good and performs better than just about anything else for the price!
Only slight problem was the usual dissapointment with vista! Adding to a current home network of 1 pc and 3 laptops, all xp and networked beautifully together only to find that vistas print sharing capabilities dont match up to something microsoft managed to do 14 years ago with windows 95! Shame on you microsoft! But in general great laptop, beats anything else for this price hands down, well done ebuyer on another great product, laptop and site highly reccomended!

Windows VistaThis laptop is outstanding. I did a lot of looking around before I bought it and couldn't find anything that even came close for the same price!!
This is my first Windows Vista machine so I was a little bit wary of how quick it would be due to Vista's RAM hungry reports. But the laptop runs perfectly, no issues with speed at all, its much quicker than my previous XP laptop and PC.
It also looks fantastic, the chassis of the machine is sleek and looks very good, the screen is crystal clear coupled with the ATI Radeon graphics card!
All in all its an outstanding laptop, highly recommended for the price, and the service from Ebuyer is top notch as usual!!
Bluetooth Info...
Just another quickie, if anyone wanted to know about the built in bluetooth on this laptop. The chip uses the Widcomm/Broadcom software which is without a doubt the daddy of all bluetooth packages. Its bluetooth 2.0 so it supports Stereo audio streaming/Bluetooth remote control as well as all the other usual bluetooth features such as file transfer, client browsing and personal area networking/internet sharing. The best feature of this is being able to watch a DVD on the laptop with stereo bluetooth headphones on and crystal clear sound....with no wires!
good product
I use it for three days. It works well so far. runs vista fast and acceptable performance in 3D games. the HP software, 3d guard, and file protection programs are useful for business people.
the only problem is a little noisy at night when I just using microsoft words. that's the AMD platform. anyway, at the price, it could be the best choice.
by the way, it comes with 32bit vista.
clear up some things
this laptop comes with Vista 32Bit
If you install windows XP it will not show 4gb of memory, due to XP's 32bit of 4gb TOTAL memory.
If the graphics card is a 512mb version this will be using 512mb of the 4gb total, a thats included in the total memory size limit.
so if you see 3.5gb memory instead of 4gb this is why!
Yes you can install linux on this if you find the appropiate hardware drivers
yes you can install xp home, or xp pro
tbh i would scrap vista as it uses over 1gb of memory straight off from loading on top of everything else.
Windows do offer a downgrade path for certain versions of vista, not sure if home premium is allowed to downgrade to xp for free, but i know vista business you can!
vista sucks, is slow, and is a pain for device drivers and stupid boot failures, get xp on and this machine spec will run real nice!
