Great- install and forget the DVD
review by: Charlie rating:
customer rating
operating system: Windows 7

Like all the review say, this is the best version of Windows ever... I've been using Windows Xp for a while now and so I wasn't sure about switching to 7 but I'm glad I did.

I didn't need to install any drivers like I had to on xp... Windows found them all and installed them for me and also automatically selected the best screen resolution for me.

When I was draging my REALLY old programs over from my USB Hard Disk, Windows 7 popped up saying that it found a virus on my old Hard Drive which it cleaned/removed for me... I didn't even realise it has basic anti virus built in!

I love this operating system!... it's faster, and just works.

OK for 32 bit laptop?
review by: Anonymous operating system: Not Applicable

Not clear if the 64 bit Windows 7 is OK for a 32 bit laptop - I want to replace my Vista with a clean install of W7.

It depends on the specification of the laptop, but if the laptop previously had vista, then it is more then likely it will be 64 bit compatible

Licence and Media
review by: Peter Fosdike operating system: Not Applicable

Hello, a questions for you.

I have never owned windows before and do not understand all the different versions of home w7 for sale. I essentially need to know, will this work for me if I am using virtualization with VMWare or Parallels?

What is the difference between
Licence and media - 1 PC - OEM
and Full Package?

have done some research on it but still not clear on it

Thanks!

The OEM edition receives no support from us, you have to self support or use the Microsoft Partner centre. You are also unable to transfer the license to a new machine once installed, so if the machine falis, the software is lost.

It depends what exactly you are trying to do with VMware and Virtulisation, but you would probably need the professional edition.

Can I install 64 Bit?
review by: Steve operating system: Not Applicable

Is this capable of win7 64 bit or should I install 32bit?
Buyers Comment: 64 bit and 32 Bit have virtually the same hardware requirements. 64 bit requires slightly more hard drive space. This system is more then capable of running both versions.
