With Wifi settings are everything
operating system:Windows XPI'm an ex-support engineer who has had alot of experience of the past 5 years with Wifi kit and troubleshooting the thousands of problems they cause.
With Wifi equipment the settings cause more problems than anything else.
This product is solid but like everything, you must correctly configure the Router and the device to talk to each other sensibly.
The chipset this product is based upon is the RT2870 and there are device drivers available from their website which are more upto date than Tenda's.
I was using it at home on a mixed network of N and G devices in conjunction with a Linksys WRT160N Router. I found that with the Tenda drivers I had a good stable connection but could only achieve a connection speed or 65Mbps. I contacted both Linksys and Tenda detailing the problem. Tenda replied by the following morning, sending me a copy of the RA Link drivers and suggesting I try them. Linksys were less helpful, saying it was probably down to my ISP...
To cut a long story short, I tried the drivers and nothing changed. I had another look at the router settings and changed the following...

I rebooted the router and the W311 then connected at 135Mbps. Since then the connection has remained stable at that speed. My wireless G devices are also still connecting fine so this seems to have solved the problem.
I would quite happily recommend this product, especially at this price.

operating system:Windows VistaDrivers work with vista, even though there not 'signed' you can just select 'install anyway' and hey presto.
The included wifi software manager isnt amazing and not that simple to use. But its easy enough to get windows to manage your wireless networks and its a breeze that way.
Currently connected at 'excellant', full signal, 150mbs to my Tenda router. File sharing is pretty fast, much better than G technology but perhaps not quite as fast as i'd hoped (easily enough for streaming music and high quality video).
Its a bargain compared to the other leading brands. Highly recommended!

Im using it on a b&g router and not 1 problem to report. it is also no bigger then a mini memory stick which is even more impressive.
I have had several other wireless adaptors running on several other systems as i build and use systems all the time and this one out performs all of them
Dont hesistate and if you dont like to use the included software to manage your connections just disable it and use the windows zero config
Buy one now !!!
Fully Operational
operating system:Windows XPI've had this a few days on my home network (802.11g) and it is working absolutely fine, 2 floors above my router in the kitchen, with better reception than I would expect.
Unfortunately I have little to compare it with and can't say much more than that it is definitely good value for money, no complaints here.
Installation was easy, I simply disabled the autorun of Tenda's WiFi manager and connected through Network Connections / Wireless Zero in the normal manner.
