Piece of cake
operating system:Windows 7Bought this to add a RAID 1 array to my HTPC to store all my music because the Linksys Medie Hub is proving increasingly troublesome.
I preferred this approach rather than using onboard RAID for 3 reasons:
1. It avoids the need to reinstall Windows after resetting the BIOS.
2. It is easier to transfer this to another pc should the need arise.
3. In the event of a need to reinstall Windows nothing needs to be salvaged from the C: drive before doing that.
Space is at a premium in an HTPC case so I used a pair of Hitachi Travelstar 250GB drives (q/f 146993) sharing one 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor.
Installation is so easy I almost couldn't believe it. Drop the card into a vacant slot and connect the drives; install drivers and reboot. On rebooting press Ctrl-J to enter the card's BIOS and set up the required RAID array. Now use Windows Disk management to configure and initialise the volume and you're ready to rock. Simples.
It really is that straightforward - much easier than the Promise card that I used previously in a different application.
It is inexpensive and easy to use. Five stars without hesitation.

operating system:Windows 7This is a very easy to install card, simple to configure RAID setup, just make sure that if you are running Windows 7 64bit or another 64 bit OS you download the drivers before you installing an OS onto RAID using this card and have them ready on USB or CD as during install of Win7 x64 it didnt detect the hard drives or the card, until i got drivers onto a disk for it to read duing setup. Otherwise brilliant card, good transfer speeds, doesnt take up much room in your computer.
Use with Windows 7 , VISTA and 64 bit Ubuntu
Nice and easy to install - if you need to do a system recovery using VISTA or Windows 7 recovery CD's, you have to load the appropriate drivers.
32 and 64 bit drivers are provided on CD ( in folders called Floppy32 and Floppy64 ) and they work fine for me - so no need to download anything from the manufacturer.
Perfect for older PC upgrades
