A very good purchase
operating system:LinuxThe idea was to drastically reduce the power consumption of our computers using Solid State Hard Drives drives and Samsung green 5400rpm drives.
I purchased two of these drives, one each for my wife and myself to use on our Ubuntu Lynx computers. Installation was straight forward using the latest Ubuntu download for AMD 64. I used the alternative disc because I wanted the home directory containing all our documents and pictures on the second Samsung green drives. The Samsung drive is set to spin down whenever possible.
When installation was done the operating system including all the extras we normally use, occupied just 12Gb of the 30Gb left on the Onyx drive after allowing 2Gb for the swap directory..
The home directory had the full 1Tb on the Samsung green drive.
The result::
Two really quiet computers;
Enormous power saving over the raid drives we were using.
No drop in operating speed, indeed a sharper response all round.
Noticeably quicker power on and off, important to us because we always power down between sessions.
At these prices there is every reason to move to solid state drives.
The two computers were upgraded for £200 with Ebuyer's free 5 day delivery. Wonderful value for money.
Great Drive
operating system:Windows 7Does what it says on the box. I got this for a HTPC and windows loads up in 10 seconds. Scores 7.4 on windows index so that is pretty nippy, seing as this is half the speed as the top of the range SSD's

Great Drive for the Price.
operating system:Windows 7With an average write from internal drives at 100MB/Sec, being able to transfer a gigabyte of data in about 7 seconds is very handy! Great drive, very fast and great for shoving in an enclosure to carry about with you without worry of it being broken.
Excellent
operating system:Windows 7This is my first SSD Drive and I must say this has breathed a new life into my old laptop.
Install was straight forward and hassel free, Windows 7 install was clean and without problems. Installed drivers and updates which was much faster than using my old HD.
32gb might seem small but After installing Windows 7, all updates, full install of office and Live Messenger I still have 17gb free. Which plenty to keep some of my fav music and TV Progs.
The performance is far better than a standard HD, shut down and startup is far quicker. Programs start in a flash and it uses less battery, also my laptop is cooler too.
All in all I am very impressed with this product, well worth the money, only wish I could afford a larger one.
