Vista sucks.
review by: Anonymous os: Windows XP

I have a dual boot machine,

I have two of these fellas in an SLI configuration.

They serve as a replacement to my 8400GS cards, bought as a compromise after spending so much out on the rest of my kit, and regretted it.

UT3 ran... just. Will let you know what it runs like with the new cards.

Vista Ultimate 64 won't allow me to install the drivers. Consequently I have gone from a Vista mark of 3.4 to 1.

I'm not surprised. I think I'll nuke vista back to the stoneage. Sucky piece of cr@p that it is.

XP, however, did. I have to say, though there has been no gaming yet the quality of the display is astounding and my computer boots more quickly now.

These cards are huge! I had to reconfigure my case to fit them in.

They are whisper quiet, which is nice.

My system in a nutshell:

Antec Nine Hundred

Tagan modular PSU

Asus Crosshair

Athlon 64 X2 6000+

4 x 1GB OCZ Platinum

2 x SATA drives

1 x IDE drive.

Smooth bit of kit

Got done building my new 500 pound machine, installed this thing smooth as silk even though it's real big and I had to move my HD. Vista 32 because I'm stupid and didn't realise my processor's 64, but whatever- got up and running fine and this card impresses me greatly.

The benchmarks claim that this thing competes against the 8800 and even beats it sometimes, and yes, I can believe that. I can run Crysis on high at 1440 at very playable framerates (haven't checked actual numbers) and it's eaten everything else I've thrown at it effortlessly. Recommendation? You bet.

Give this card a try!

Just brought this card as a upgrade from my Inno3D Geforce 8600GT and I have to say that I am very impressed with the 9600GT,yes the card is big and so is its performance.

When you first install this card its very loud, but the latest drivers from Nvidia cure this and its virtualy silent as a result.

BFG state that there is a 90% increase in performance compared to the 8600GT and I am in agreement with them - if you are looking for a fast, decent card then give this a try and you wont be dissapointed.

For the price... Awesome!

This card is huge, it also runs hot so make sure you have a good case and cooling fans, but the performance is great. If you are registering for the lifetime guarantee from the uk, it is a tough process but I have no regrets about buying this card.

I'm running a multi boot system.

xp pro, vista business 64 bit and ubuntu 8.04 64bit.

Everything runs great.

The price has gone up since I bought it; but it's still worth it!
